Uganda Tourist eVisa

This single-entry visa is for travelers visiting Uganda for tourism, leisure, family visits, or short holidays. It allows stays of up to 90 days and must be used within its validity period.

To apply for the Uganda Tourist eVisa, you’ll need:

  • 🛂 Your passport: Valid for at least 6 months after your trip
  • ✈️ Travel itinerary or return flight booking
  • 🏨 Hotel reservation or invitation letter from a host in Uganda
  • 📷 Passport-style photo
  • 🧾 Yellow fever vaccination certificate (may be required)

Uganda East Africa Visa

This regional visa allows multiple entries between Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda for tourism purposes. It’s the perfect choice for a multi-country trip across East Africa.

The visa is valid for 90 days and must first be used in the country that issued it. So if you apply through Uganda, your trip must begin in Uganda.

To apply for the Uganda East Africa Visa, you’ll need:

  • 🛂 Your passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date
  • 🖼️ A recent passport-size photo
  • 📧 A valid email address to receive your visa
  • 💳 A debit or credit card for the visa fee

Single-Entry Visa*

Allows one-time entry into Uganda for up to 90 days. This visa can be used for tourism, short business trips, or visiting family and friends.

Additional Visas*

  • Diplomatic Visa: Designed for diplomatic passport holders traveling on official missions. This visa may include fee exemptions and fast-track processing.

  • Official Visa: Issued to government officials traveling to Uganda for official duties. Requires formal documentation from your country’s government or an international organization.

  • Work Visa: Required for individuals employed or volunteering in Uganda. Applicants must show a work contract, proof of job necessity, and may need employer sponsorship.

  • Missionary Visa: For religious workers conducting charitable or mission-based work. A letter from the affiliated religious organization in Uganda is required.

  • Research Visa: Intended for foreign researchers and academics. Applicants must present a research permit and a clear outline of their project objectives.

  • Medical Visa: Issued to those traveling for treatment at Ugandan healthcare facilities. A letter from the hospital is required confirming the treatment schedule.

  • Journalist Visa: This is for foreign journalists or media crews working on assignments in Uganda. Press accreditation and project briefs are required before entry.

Uganda’s visa policy depends on your nationality, travel purpose, and intended stay. Most travelers must apply for a visa before arrival, though some African and diplomatic passport holders are visa-exempt.

Uganda offers a range of short-term and long-term visas, including the Tourist eVisa, Transit Visa, and the East Africa Visa, which allows multiple entries across Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda.

Tourist eVisas are typically valid for a single entry and a 90-day stay. Travelers must apply online in advance and show proof of accommodation, return travel, and a yellow fever certificate.

For those visiting for business, study, work, medical reasons, or religious activities, Uganda offers specific visa categories through the Ugandan Directorate of Immigration. Multiple-entry visas are also available.
