Poland visa requirements for Georgian citizens

Georgian citizens holding a biometric passport do not currently need a visa to visit Poland for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, or family visits. However, starting in late 2026, travelers from Georgia will need to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization before entering Poland or other Schengen Area countries.

Georgian travelers will need one Poland entry document:

  • ETIAS for Poland: A mandatory online travel authorization for visa-exempt travelers visiting the Schengen Area. Once implemented, it will allow Georgian citizens to enter Poland for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, or transit.

General Poland entry requirements for Georgian travelers are:

  • Georgian biometric passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended departure date (non-biometric holders require a Schengen visa)
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or invitation letter)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
  • Valid travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR
  • Other supporting documents, depending on purpose/situation (e.g., business contact details or conference invitation)

Poland visa FAQs

What Georgian travelers commonly ask about Poland visas

If you hold a biometric passport, you don't need a visa for tourism, business, or family visits for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. However, if you have an older, non-biometric passport, you must apply for a standard Schengen Visa (C-type) at a Polish consulate before you travel.

While you currently enter visa-free, starting in late 2026, Georgian biometric passport holders will be required to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization before departure. This is a mandatory electronic visa waiver that's applied for online and is valid for three years. Without an approved ETIAS, you'll be denied boarding.

No. As of December 1, 2025, Georgia was officially removed from Poland's simplified work visa list. You can no longer work legally based solely on your visa-free status or a simple employer declaration (oświadczenie). To work in Poland now, your employer must obtain a full Type-A Work Permit, and you must then apply for a National Visa (D-type) for work purposes.

To stay beyond the 90-day visa-free limit, you must apply for a National Visa (D-type) at the Polish Embassy in Tbilisi before your trip. If you're already in Poland and wish to stay longer, you must apply for a temporary residence permit (karta pobytu) at the local Voivodeship office (Urząd Wojewódzki) before your 90-day legal stay expires.

As of March 6, 2026, the European Commission suspended visa-free travel only for holders of Georgian diplomatic, service, and official passports. This suspension doesn't currently affect ordinary citizens traveling on standard biometric passports, who still enjoy visa-free entry for short stays.
