Danish passport holders can visit Thailand for tourism for up to 30 days without a visa. That has been the limit since 15 September 2026, when Thailand revoked its 60-day exemption. Denmark's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says trips for any other purpose need a visa. The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen says the exemption does not cover the grey Danish alien's passport or the blue Danish travel document. Every traveler also files the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online for each entry, in the 3 days before arrival.

Do Danish citizens need a visa for Thailand?
Not for tourism trips of up to 30 days. Denmark's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Danes get an entry stamp for a 30-day stay when they arrive. Trips for any other purpose need a visa. Every traveler also files the TDAC in the 3 days before arrival.
Can I use the exemption with a grey Danish alien's passport or a blue travel document?
No. The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen says the exemption excludes the grey Danish Alien's Passport and the blue Danish Travel Document. Holders apply for a visa instead. Denmark's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also warns that other entry rules may apply to refugee and alien's passports.
Can I apply for a Thai e-Visa through the Copenhagen embassy while traveling outside Denmark?
No. The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen takes e-Visa applications only from residents currently living in Denmark or Lithuania. If you are traveling elsewhere, it says to use the 30-day exemption or contact the Thai embassy in the country you are in.
Will Thailand accept a Danish emergency passport?
Yes. Denmark's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Danish emergency passports (nødpas) are recognized for entry and exit. An EU emergency travel document issued outside Thailand is different: it is accepted only for transit at the airport, not for entry.
