Thailand visa requirements for Dutch citizens

The Royal Thai Embassy in The Hague says Dutch passport holders can visit Thailand for up to 30 days without a visa for tourism. That limit has applied since 15 September 2026, when Thailand's 60-day exemption ended. The Dutch foreign ministry says you must be able to show you'll leave Thailand within that period. Every traveler, children included, files the TDAC online in the 3 days before each arrival.

Thailand visa FAQs

Quick answers for Dutch citizens traveling to Thailand.

Still have questions?

Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.

Do Dutch citizens need a visa for Thailand?

Not for tourist stays of up to 30 days. The Royal Thai Embassy in The Hague says Dutch passport holders can visit for up to 30 days without a visa for tourism. The Dutch foreign ministry adds that you must be able to show you'll leave within that period. File the TDAC before every entry.

Can I get a Thai visa at the Thai consulate in Amsterdam?

No. The Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General in Amsterdam has discontinued visa issuance, says the embassy in The Hague. Applications go online through Thailand's official e-Visa system, and the embassy only serves people who stay in the Netherlands for the whole process. Dutch nationals already in Thailand or abroad can't apply there.

Do Dutch children need their own TDAC for Thailand?

Yes. The Dutch foreign ministry says children need a valid passport, a Thailand Digital Arrival Card and possibly a visa for the trip. A group submission can cover up to 10 people, so a family can file together.

When should I apply for a Thai e-Visa through The Hague?

The Royal Thai Embassy in The Hague says to apply at least one month before travel, but no more than two months ahead. You only need a visa if the 30-day tourism exemption doesn't fit your trip.
