Do French citizens need a visa for Thailand?
Not for tourist stays of up to 30 days. France's foreign ministry says French ordinary-passport holders can stay that long without a visa since 15 September 2026. For a longer stay, get a visa before you travel, since an extension in Thailand is at the immigration officer's discretion. You still file the TDAC before every entry.
Can I still get a Thai visa at the honorary consulate in Marseille, Lyon or Monaco?
No. The Royal Thai Embassy in Paris says those honorary consulates are no longer authorized to issue visas. Paris accepts applications only from permanent residents of France, Monaco or Algeria, through Thailand's official e-Visa system. You must be physically in one of those places when the visa is issued.
I'm French-Thai: which passport do I use to enter and leave Thailand?
Use the same passport for both. The Royal Thai Embassy in Paris says that when a person enters Thailand on one passport, they must leave on that same passport.
What happens if my French passport was once reported lost or stolen?
France's foreign ministry says Thai immigration police refuse entry or exit to anyone holding a passport declared lost or stolen. If you later found a passport you had reported missing, travel on a new one instead.
