Thailand visa requirements for Qatari citizens

The Royal Thai Embassy in Doha lists Qatar in Thailand's 30-day tourism exemption, in force since 15 September 2026. It covers Qatari national passports, not a Travel Document for Aliens issued by Qatar. Under the exemption, entries through land or sea checkpoints are allowed only twice per calendar year. Every entry also needs the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), filed in the 3 days before arrival.

Thailand visa FAQs

Quick answers for Qatari citizens traveling to Thailand.

Still have questions?

Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.

Do Qatari citizens need a visa for Thailand?

No, for tourism of up to 30 days. The Royal Thai Embassy in Doha lists Qatar on Thailand's 30-day exemption from 15 September 2026. If you plan several overland trips from neighboring countries, land or sea entries under the exemption are limited to two per calendar year.

Can Qataris enter Thailand overland from Malaysia or Cambodia more than twice a year?

Not under the visa exemption. The Royal Thai Embassy in Doha says entries through land or sea checkpoints are allowed only twice per calendar year. Only nationals of Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Singapore may cross more often. Each crossing also needs its own TDAC.

I live in Qatar on a QID: how do I apply for a Thai visa?

Apply online through Thailand's official e-Visa system, and the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha processes it. The embassy uses your residence permit (QID) as the document showing your current location. You must be in Qatar to apply, and some nationalities may need extra documents and more time.
