If you need to travel to Canada anytime soon, you need to see which type of travel document you need to enter the country. While most people need a visa, for which they need to apply at the nearest Canadian diplomatic mission, 54 nationalities are visa exempt. However, there is one document they need to obtain as well, and that is a Canada ETA. The document is required for all the visa-exempt travelers except for US citizens who decide to travel to Canada by air.

To learn in which category you are, you can either take a look at Canada’s visa policy, or you can use iVisa’s Visa Checker. We recommend the latter because it is far more convenient. The tool can be located in the top right corner of this page. Access the feature and follow the steps. In the drag-down menu on the left, you need to select your country of origin. In the one on the right, you need to choose Canada. The result will tell you if you are eligible for an ETA or not, and if you are, you will be redirected to the online application page.

How much does a Canada ETA cost?

If you are wondering about the Canada ETA fee, there is nothing to worry about. iVisa offers competitive prices for the best services you will find online. However, you should know that you have the possibility of choosing how much you spend on your ETA. What does that mean? To put it simply, iVisa gives you three processing time options so that you can choose the one that you need the most. Each option comes with its own cost. Obviously, the faster you want your Canada ETA, the more you are willing to pay for it. Your options are as follows:

  • Standard processing – if the circumstances allow it, you can go for the slowest and cheapest option. By choosing the Standard option, you agree to have your application processed within 2 days. The cost of this option is USD $99.49.

  • Rush processing – if time is of the issue, you can choose this option and have your Canada ETA in your e-mail inbox in just 24 hours. However, you will be charged USD $129.49.

  • Super Rush processing – emergency situation call for the fastest processing time available. Your application is processed within 12 hours, but the cost is higher as well. The fee for this option is USD $193.49.

Since this is an online application process we are talking about, the payment must be made online as well. That should not be challenging since there are many means of payment that can be used online. You can use a credit or debit card, but you can pay with PayPal, Alipay, or WeChat as well. Use the one that you find most convenient.

As for the moment in which the payment must be made, you will be asked to provide all the information during the second step of the application form. Also, there are no hidden fees or additional charges along the way. The sum you will be given during the application process will be the same as the one that appears on your bank statement.
