Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Egypt e-Visa for Belgian?
The e-Visa is an authorization document that helps visitors enter Egypt.
What documents do you need?
While the process should be a piece of cake, you still need a few things to get started. They are as follows:
-
A valid passport – if you don't have a passport, you can get one as fast as 24 hours. If you have one, make sure that it's still valid, and will remain so for another six months from your date of arrival in Egypt. Otherwise, your visa application will be denied.
-
A scan of your personal information page on your passport – you will need to upload it in step three of the application form.
-
Complete a personal questionnaire – step three of the application form will also ask you to answer a set of personal questions. It is nothing out of the ordinary. They just want to know the reasons for your trip and such. It should take about 5 minutes of your time.
-
Means of payment – since you need to make the payment before you submit your application (step two of the application), you need to have a credit or debit card ready. If you have a Paypal account, iVisa accepts that too.
What are the processing times and fees?
The cost of an Egypt e-visa is determined by two factors: the processing time and visa type. As for the processing time, you have 3 options you can choose from:
-
Standard – if you select this option, you Egypt e-visa will arrive through e-mail within 6 Business Days. This is the cheapest processing time within the options. It only costs USD $61.49.
-
Rush – this option will shorten the application processing time opposed to the first option. Your application will be processed within 4 Business Days. However, for this option you will need to pay $30 more, so you will be charged USD $114.99 in total.
-
Super Rush – if there is an urgency to travel and need to be in Egypt as soon as possible, this is the option for you. Your application will be processed within 3 Business Days. As you may have guessed, this is the most expensive option. You will be charged USD $153.99 but will be on time for your emergency.
The second factor that affects how much you would be charged is the visa type. All visas released by iVisa allow a maximum stay of 30 days in Total, but you can choose from a single-entry visa and a multiple-entry visa. The fees mentioned above apply to the single-entry version. If you want to find out the cost of the multiple-entry eVisa, you would need to add an extra to each processing time.
What are the differences between a single-entry eVisa and a multiple-entry eVisa?
As the name says, the Single Entry eVisa allows you to enter the country just once. On the other hand, the Multiple Entry eVisa allows you to enter multiple times. But, remember that the visa is valid 90 days after issued. So, as long your stay does not exceed 30 days Per Entry, and all entries occur within 90 days, you're all good.
What documents do I need to show up on my arrival to Egypt?
You should have the following documents on hand to show upon your arrival:
-
Passport valid for a least 6 months after your arrival date.
-
e-Visa printout (Remember to print it on a sheet of blank letter-sized white paper. They will not accept double-side or reduced printing.)
-
Your travel itinerary.
-
Hotel bookings and places you'll visit if you're going as a tourist.
-
Supporting Letter (a letter of invitation from a company or family/friend)
Do I need an Egypt e-Visa if I'm only transiting through the country?
You don't need an Egypt e-Visa if your transit time/layover will be less than 48 hours, but you must show your next flight ticket.
You may be permitted to leave the airport but you will have to hand over your passport. You can ask your airline if they offer short tours to their passengers with layovers between 6 and 48 hours, some do.
In the case that your transit time is less than 6 hours, you may leave the transit area, unfortunately, not the airport.
This information DOES NOT apply to nationals of Iran, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Palestine, and the Philippines, who must remain in the transit area at all times.
When should I apply for an Egypt e-Visa?
