How to prepare for the U.S. Visa interview in Pakistan

If you meet all requirements, you most likely do not have to attend a visa interview to renew your B1/B2 visa in Pakistan.

If you do, we'll provide you with all the tips and preparation information for a successful outcome. Although the thought of being interviewed by a consular officer can be stressful, remember that the interview is simply intended to determine if you meet visa requirements.

Make sure that:

  • You meet all the requirements.

  • You're honest about your travel purpose.

  • You're not planning to work in the United States.

  • You have no criminal intent when traveling to the United States.

  • You have never had a problem getting a U.S. visa.

It will be harder to get a visa for travelers from countries with economic problems, as statistically, applicants are more likely to be potential immigrants.

If so, you will likely be asked about your savings, job status, and intention to return. Your supporting documents, such as bank statements, must back up all your answers.
