- Who it's for
- Travelers visiting Cambodia for tourism on the Type T visa. Nationals of the nine ASEAN member states are exempt for tourism, so they do not need it, though they still do for business travel.
- Permitted activities
- Tourism and leisure. Business travel is a separate Type E visa on the same portal, and this document does not cover work, study, or living in Cambodia.
- How you travel
- Accepted at Techo International, Siem Reap Angkor, and Sihanoukville airports, and at the Bavet and Tropaeng Kreal land crossings. Cham Yeam and Poipet are currently suspended for eVisa entry, and travelers using those posts take a visa on arrival instead.
- Delivery format
- A PDF approval letter by email, also downloadable from the government's Check and Change page. Present it on arrival together with the separate e-Arrival submission.
- Good to know
- Every traveler needs their own eVisa, minors included, and a parent or guardian can add each child to the same submission. Travel on the exact passport the eVisa was issued against, and note that extensions are handled in person in Cambodia rather than online.
- Validity
- Valid for 90 days
- Entry
- Single entry
- Length of stay
- Stay up to 30 days in total
- Processing time
- Get it in as fast as 3 days

Cambodia visa FAQs
Quick answers to the most common questions about the Cambodia eVisa.
Still have questions?
Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.
Do I need a Cambodia visa?
Most foreign nationals require a visa to enter Cambodia. However, citizens of ASEAN countries (such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia) typically enjoy visa-free entry for 14 to 30 days. If you are not from a visa-free country (such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, EU member state, or Australia), you are eligible to apply for the Cambodia eVisa for tourism. Cambodia also offers a 30-day visa on arrival for most nationalities at major airports (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville) and land border crossings, costing approximately $30–$35 in cash. Applicants need a passport valid for six months, a passport-sized photo, and payment in US dollars. Generally, the eVisa is preferred to avoid long queues at the border and simple online process.
How will I receive the Cambodia eVisa?
You will receive your approved eVisa as a PDF document via email. You must print two physical copies: one to give to immigration officials upon arrival and one to surrender when you depart the country. You can also find a digital copy in your iVisa dashboard if applied through us.
Can I use the Cambodia eVisa at any entry point?
No. While the eVisa is accepted at major international airports (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville) and the busiest land border crossings (like Poipet or Bavet), it is not accepted at all remote land borders. Always check the list of supported entry points before traveling on the government website.
How long can I stay in Cambodia with an eVisa?
The eVisa allows a maximum stay of 30 days. It is a single-entry visa valid for use within 90 days of the issue date. If you leave the country, you will need a new visa to re-enter.
Can I extend my stay in Cambodia?
Yes. Unlike some other eVisas, the Cambodia tourist eVisa can generally be extended once for an additional 30 days at the Department of Immigration in Phnom Penh or via the eVisa portal online.
What is the "Cambodia e-Arrival" card?
As of 2024, the Cambodian government has introduced the Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA) card. This is a separate digital and mandatory requirement for travelers arriving by air, and it's separate from your visa. It replaces the old paper immigration, health, and customs forms. It must be completed within 7 days prior to arrival. With iVisa, you can apply for both documents in one, saving you time and effort.
How long does Cambodia eVisa processing take?
Most applicants receive their approval via email within 3 days. However, during peak travel seasons or public holidays (like Khmer New Year in April), it is recommended to apply at least 7 days in advance to account for any potential government delays. With iVisa, you can get your Cambodia eVisa in as fast as 3 days, and we'll do an extra check of your application to avoid delays or denials.
Do children/minors need a Cambodia eVisa?
Yes, every traveler with their own passport must have an individual eVisa. If a child is traveling on a parent's passport, their details must be included in the parent's visa application. iVisa makes it easy to apply for the whole family in one go by using the 'Add another person' feature during the application.
What happens if I overstay my Cambodia visa?
Overstaying in Cambodia results in a fine of approximately $10 per day. For long-term overstays, you may face detention, deportation, and a future entry ban.
What happens if my Cambodia eVisa application is denied?
Denials are rare and usually occur due to mismatched passport numbers or poor-quality photos. iVisa's review process is designed to catch these errors to avoid delays or denial. We offer a smart photo upload tool to ensure your documents adhere to the government's strict standards. iVisa also offers optional denial protection.
