Who it's for
Business travelers heading to Cambodia on the Type E visa. Diplomatic, official, and courtesy passport holders use separate categories that only authorized entities may lodge, so they sit outside this flow.
Permitted activities
Business meetings, contract negotiation, due diligence, conferences and trade fairs, and exploring investment opportunities. It does not by itself authorize paid employment in Cambodia, which needs a separate work permit.
How you travel
Accepted at Techo International, Siem Reap Angkor, and Sihanoukville airports, and at the Bavet and Tropaeng Kreal land crossings. Cham Yeam and Poipet do not currently accept it, and travelers arriving elsewhere fall back to a visa on arrival.
Delivery format
A PDF approval letter emailed to you and also downloadable from the government's Check and Change page. There is no sticker in your passport before you travel.
Good to know
Type E is the class that converts to longer in-country stays for business, employment, study, or retirement, arranged in person at the immigration department. You must travel on the exact passport the eVisa was issued against, and Cambodia's separate e-Arrival declaration is still required.
Validity
Valid for 90 days

Single entry
Length of stay
Stay up to 30 days per entry

Cambodia visa FAQs

Quick answers to the most common questions about the Cambodia Business eVisa.

Still have questions?

Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.

Do I need a Cambodia Business visa?

Most foreign nationals require a visa for business activities in Cambodia. While citizens of ASEAN countries (like Thailand or Vietnam) have visa-free entry for short-term tourism, they often still require a Business (Type E) visa if engaging in formal work or long-term business. If you are from a country like the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, or an EU member state, you are eligible to apply for the Business eVisa online. This is the correct choice if you plan to extend your stay for work, as the Tourist eVisa (Type T) cannot be converted to a Business extension.

How will I receive the Cambodia Business eVisa?

You will receive your approved eVisa as a PDF document via email. You must print two physical copies: one to give to immigration officials upon arrival and one to surrender when you depart the country. You can also find a digital copy in your iVisa dashboard if applied through us.

Can I use the Cambodia Business eVisa at any entry point?

No. The eVisa is accepted at major international airports—Phnom Penh (PNH), Siem Reap (SAI), and Sihanoukville (KOS)—and key land borders such as Bavet, Poipet, Cham Yeam, and Tropaeng Kreal. It is not accepted at all remote land border crossings, so verify your route before traveling.

How long can I stay in Cambodia with an eVisa?

The initial Business eVisa allows a stay of 30 days. It is a single-entry visa valid for entry within 90 days of the issue date. However, unlike the tourist visa, the Business (Type E) visa can be a gateway to longer-term residency.

Can I extend my stay in Cambodia?

Yes. The Business eVisa (Type E) is highly flexible. It can be extended for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months at the Department of Immigration. Extensions of 6 and 12 months typically allow for multiple entries. Note that to work legally, you must also apply for a separate work permit.

What is the "Cambodia e-Arrival" card?

As of 2024, the Cambodian government has introduced the Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA) card. This is a separate digital and mandatory requirement for travelers arriving by air, and it's separate from your visa. It replaces the old paper immigration, health, and customs forms. It must be completed within 7 days prior to arrival. With iVisa, you can apply for both documents in one, saving you time and effort.

How long does Cambodia Business eVisa processing take?

Most applicants receive their approval via email within a week. However, during peak travel seasons or public holidays (like Khmer New Year in April), it is recommended to apply at least two weeks in advance to account for any potential government delays. With iVisa, you choose your processing speed at checkout, and the option you pick is shown with its delivery time before you pay. We'll also do an extra check of your application to avoid delays or denials.

What happens if I overstay my Cambodia visa?

Overstaying in Cambodia results in a fine of approximately $10 per day. For long-term overstays, you may face detention, deportation, and a future entry ban.

What happens if my Cambodia Business eVisa application is denied?

Denials are usually caused by blurry passport photos, mismatched data (like a typo in the passport number), or insufficient supporting business documentation. iVisa's "Expert Review" is specifically designed to catch these issues. If your application is denied, we can help you identify the reason and guide you through a re-application. iVisa also offers optional denial protection.

Why travelers choose iVisa

On your own

  • A multi-step government form you work through on your own, with no review before it goes in.
  • You judge for yourself whether your invitation letter and passport meet the requirements.
  • Phone and email from Phnom Penh, during local business hours only.
  • The mandatory arrival declaration lives on a separate government portal, easy to overlook.
  • A guided form with each question explained, checked by our team before submission.
  • We review the invitation letter and passport up front, so problems surface before the government sees them.
  • Support around the clock, in your own language.
  • We flag the e-Arrival step alongside your visa, so it does not get missed.
