Polish visa policy for Emiratis citizens

UAE citizens do not currently need a visa to visit Poland for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism or business. However, starting in late 2026, travelers from the UAE will need to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization before entering Poland or other Schengen Area countries.

UAE travelers will need one Poland entry document:

ETIAS for Poland: A mandatory online travel authorization for visa-exempt travelers visiting the Schengen Area. Once implemented, it will allow UAE citizens to enter Poland for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, or transit.

General Poland entry requirements for UAE travelers are:

  • UAE passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended departure date
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or invitation letter)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
  • Valid travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR
  • Other supporting documents, depending on purpose/situation (e.g., business contact details or conference invitation)

Frequently asked questions about getting the Poland visa with a United Arab Emirates passport

No. UAE citizens can enter Poland and the Schengen Area visa-free for short stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This exemption applies to tourism, business trips, and family visits. You simply need a valid biometric passport.

While UAE citizens remain visa-exempt, starting in late 2026, you'll be required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) authorization before traveling. This is an electronic travel permit that’s mandatory for all visa-free travelers. It'll be valid for three years and must be applied for online.

If you plan to stay beyond the 90-day limit, you must apply for a National Visa (D-type) at the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General in Dubai before your trip. This visa is typically issued for one year for purposes like long-term study, work, or residency. Once in Poland, you can also apply for a temporary residence permit (karta pobytu) to extend your stay.

No. Your visa-free status only allows for business activities like meetings or conferences. To be legally employed, a Polish employer must first obtain a work permit for you. You must then apply for a National Visa (D-type) for work purposes or a temporary residence and work permit if you're already in Poland.

Yes. Because Poland is part of the Schengen Area, your visa-free entry allows you to travel freely between other Schengen member states (like France, Germany, or Italy) without further border checks. However, the total time spent in the entire Schengen zone must not exceed the cumulative 90 days within any 180-day period.
