Saudi Tourist eVisa
The Saudi Tourist eVisa is designed for travelers visiting Saudi Arabia for leisure, family visits, short business trips, or religious tourism (Umrah outside of Hajj season).
With this visa, you can:
- 🕌 Explore tourist attractions across Saudi Arabia
- 👨👩👧👦 Visit family or friends
- 🎟️ Attend conferences, exhibitions, or cultural events
- 🙏 Perform Umrah (outside the annual Hajj period)
The tourist eVisa does not allow you to work, study, or perform Hajj. For employment, study programs, or pilgrimage during the Hajj season, you’ll need to apply for a different visa directly through the Saudi government.
The tourist eVisa is valid for one year, allows multiple entries, and each stay can last up to 90 days.
To apply for the tourist eVisa, you’ll need:
- 🛂 A valid passport (with at least 6 months' validity)
- 📸 A recent passport-style photo (white background)
- 📝 Basic personal and travel details
- ✈️ Confirmed return or onward travel booking
- 💳 Payment for the visa and iVisa service fees
- 🏥 Health insurance (automatically included in the visa fee)
Saudi Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW)
The Saudi Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) is available exclusively to UK citizens for short visits to Saudi Arabia.
With this waiver, you can:
- 🕌 Visit for tourism or leisure
- 💼 Attend business meetings, conferences, or short-term events (non-paid activities)
- 📚 Participate in short-term study or training
- 🏥 Receive short-term medical treatment
- 🙏 Perform Umrah (outside Hajj season)
The EVW does not permit employment, study for extended periods, or participation in Hajj. For those purposes, you must apply for the appropriate visa through the Saudi government.
The EVW is valid for a single entry, with visits allowed for up to six months.
To apply for the EVW, you’ll need:
- 🛂 A valid UK passport (with at least 6 months' validity)
- 📸 A recent passport-style photo (white background)
- 📝 Travel details, including arrival and departure information
- 💳 Payment for the EVW and iVisa service fees
Saudi Umrah Visa
The Saudi Umrah Visa is intended for Muslim travelers who wish to perform Umrah outside of the Hajj season.
With this visa, you can:
- 🙏 Perform Umrah rituals in Mecca and Medina
- 🕋 Visit Islamic holy sites (with proper permissions)
The Umrah visa does not permit you to work, study, or engage in non-religious tourism. Hajj pilgrims require a separate visa issued through authorized Hajj programs.
The Umrah visa is typically a single-entry permit with a validity that aligns with your approved travel dates, allowing a stay of up to 90 days.
To apply for the Umrah visa, you’ll need:
- 🛂 A valid passport (with at least 6 months' validity)
- 📸 A recent passport-style photo (white background)
- 🏨 Proof of hotel booking through the official Nusuk platform
- ✈️ Confirmed return or onward travel booking
- 💉 Valid meningococcal (ACYW-135) vaccination certificate
- 💳 Payment for the visa and iVisa service fees
Business visit visa*
Purpose: For short-term business activities—meetings, conferences, commercial seminars, technical visits, training sessions (non-employment).
Validity: Issued as either single-entry (valid 90 days) or multiple-entry (valid 6–12 months).
Entries: Single, or multiple if granted.
Extension: Typically non-extendable.
Additional info: Requires an invitation or sponsorship letter from a Saudi company.

Employment (work) visa*
Purpose: For foreign nationals who have secured full-time employment in Saudi Arabia.
Validity: Covers the time needed to obtain an Iqama (residence permit) and typically allows a 90-day initial stay.
Entries: Single-entry before transitioning to residency.
Extension: After arrival, must convert into a residence (Iqama) permit.
Additional info: Issued after employer sponsorship and includes medical screening and employment contract.

Student visa*
Purpose: For those studying in Saudi Arabia (degree programs, research, traineeships).
Validity: Typically issued for the duration of the academic course.
Entries: Multiple entries allowed.
Extension: Can be extended as needed while enrolled.
Additional info: Allows part-time work during study breaks and brings dependents.

Family visit visa*
Purpose: For first-degree relatives of a Saudi national or Iqama holder to visit Saudi Arabia.
Validity: 90 days (for single-entry) or 6 months to 1 year (for multiple-entry).
Entries: Single or multiple, depending on type.
Extension: May be extended in-country.
Additional info: Sponsor must apply via MOFA; proof of relation is required.

Companion visa*
Purpose: For individuals visiting friends in Saudi Arabia not classified as formal family or business visits.
Validity: 6 months to 1 year, allowing up to 90 days per visit.
Entries: Single or multiple entries allowed.
Extension: Extendable for specific situations.
Additional info: Proof of host residency and relationship is required.

Transit visa*
Purpose: For travelers transiting through Saudi Arabia during a layover exceeding 12 hours.
Validity: 72 hours.
Entries: Single-entry only.
Extension: Not typically extendable.
Additional info: Ideal for leisure stopovers and layovers that are less than 12 hours.

Hajj visa*
Purpose: For Muslims performing the Hajj pilgrimage during Dhu al-Hijjah.
Validity: During the Hajj season only.
Entries: Single-entry only.
Extension: Non-extendable or convertible.
Additional info: Available only through approved Hajj operators; tourist eVisas cannot be used for Hajj.

Sharek event visa*
Purpose: For global travelers attending special sports, entertainment, or cultural events in Saudi Arabia. The visa is issued together with your ticket purchase for eligible events via the official Sharek platform.
Validity: Typically valid for around 30 days, covering a few days before and after the event.
Entries: Single-entry; exit after the event completes the visa term.
Extension: Non-extendable, issued specifically for the event.
Additional info: Grants full mobility within Saudi Arabia during the visa period (excluding Mecca and Medina for non-Muslims).
