Purpose: The Tajikistan eVisa is an electronic visa issued to eligible foreign nationals who are not visa-exempt and are traveling to Tajikistan for tourism, business, or private visits.
Duration and extensions: The Tajikistan eVisa is typically valid for 90 days from the date of issuance and permits a stay of up to 60 days within that validity period. Extensions are generally not granted.
Entries: The Tajikistan eVisa may be issued as a single-entry or double-entry visa, depending on the applicant’s selection and approval.
Delivery format: Once approved, the Tajikistan eVisa is issued electronically as a PDF document sent via email. Travelers must print a copy and present it along with their valid passport upon arrival. Applicants may also request a GBAO permit during the online application if they plan to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
Purpose: The GBAO Permit is a special travel authorization required for foreign nationals who plan to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) of Tajikistan, including areas along the Pamir Highway. It is required in addition to a valid Tajik visa (if required for your nationality).
When to apply: Travelers may request the GBAO permit during the Tajikistan eVisa application process or apply separately through the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs or authorized offices before traveling to the region.
Duration: The GBAO permit is typically valid for the same duration as the traveler’s visa or permitted stay in Tajikistan.
Entries: The permit is issued as a single authorization tied to the traveler’s passport and visa/eVisa. A new permit is required for each trip if not already included in a valid eVisa.
Delivery format: Upon approval in the eVisa system, the GBAO authorization is printed directly on the eVisa PDF. If issued separately, it is provided as an official letter or stamp that must be carried with the passport while traveling within the region.
