Thailand visa for Egyptian citizens
Egyptians need a Thai visa for every trip. Apply online to the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo, then file your TDAC in the 3 days before arrival.

Thailand visa requirements for Egyptian citizens
Egyptian citizens need a visa for Thailand for any purpose, the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo says. Egypt was not on Thailand's exemption or visa on arrival lists before 15 September 2026, and it is not on the new ones. You apply through Thailand's official e-Visa system, and the Cairo embassy decides. You no longer hand in your passport or original documents there. Every entry also needs the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), filed in the 3 days before arrival.

Do Egyptian citizens need a visa for Thailand?
Yes, for any purpose. The Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo says Egyptian nationals must apply for a Thai visa to travel to Thailand. Egypt is on none of the exemption or visa on arrival lists in force since 15 September 2026, so nothing changed for Egyptians. The Cairo consul may ask any applicant for an interview.
I am Egyptian and live in Saudi Arabia or the UAE. Can I apply for my Thai visa there?
Yes, if you are resident there. The Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh takes e-Visa applications from Iqama holders, who must be in Saudi Arabia or Lebanon when they apply. The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai serves visa-required foreigners living in the UAE. Dubai rejects applications lodged from Thailand or anywhere outside the UAE.
Which documents does the Thai embassy in Cairo want in English?
All of them. The Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo says every required document must be in English or translated into English. For a Tourist Visa, it asks Egyptians for an HR letter from their employer and their Social Insurance record, both translated. Cairo also warns that a full name spelled differently from your passport leads to automatic rejection.
Can my child travel to Thailand on my Egyptian passport?
No. The Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo says minors must apply with their own passport, and applications on a parent's passport are rejected. A minor applying alone also needs a travel authorization signed by both parents. Cairo asks for copies of both parents' ID cards with it.
