Zimbabwe visa policy

Zimbabwe’s visa policy offers several entry options depending on your nationality, reason for travel, and how long you intend to stay. Some nationalities are visa-exempt, while others can get a visa on arrival or must apply in advance through the official Zimbabwe eVisa system.

The eVisa is available to most travelers for tourism, business, study, and transit purposes. It allows for single or multiple entries and is typically valid for up to 90 days per visit. Countries eligible for the eVisa include Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and most EU member states.

Travelers from countries not eligible for the eVisa must apply for a visa through a Zimbabwean embassy. Zimbabwe also offers a KAZA UniVisa, which allows travelers to visit Zimbabwe and Zambia with one visa and take day trips into Botswana.

Zimbabwe issues work visas, student visas, residence permits, and other specialized categories such as volunteer or medical treatment visas for long-term stays. These require additional documentation and must be obtained through official immigration channels.

To avoid delays or denials, always check the latest visa rules through the Zimbabwe government before applying.

FAQs

This depends on the visa type. A single-entry eVisa is valid for one month, a double-entry visa is valid for up to three months, and a multiple-entry visa can be valid for up to six months.

Standard processing takes around seven working days. You’ll see faster options available at checkout if you’re in a hurry.

Most travelers can stay up to 30 days per visit. A double or multiple-entry visa may be a better fit if you need a longer stay.

You’ll need a passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date, a passport-style photo or selfie, and sometimes supporting documents like flight confirmations or hotel bookings.

No. If you're from a country that requires an eVisa, you must apply online before traveling. Some nationalities can get a visa on arrival, but many must apply in advance.

Visa extensions may be granted once you're in Zimbabwe, but it's not guaranteed. You’ll need to visit an immigration office before your current visa expires.

Overstaying a visa in Zimbabwe can result in fines, detention, or barring from future entry. It’s best to apply for an extension or leave before your visa expires.

Yes. You may need a transit visa even if you're just passing through. These are valid for short stays and are available through the eVisa system or at the border for some travelers.

Citizens of over 100 countries are eligible, including travelers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and most of Europe.

Your eVisa can be used at all major airports, including Harare, Victoria Falls, and Bulawayo, and at land borders like Beitbridge, Chirundu, and Kazungula.

Once you apply, our iVisa team will review your information and documents before submitting them to the Zimbabwean government. We’ll email your visa straight to your inbox as soon as it's approved.
