How to apply for your Bahrain Tourist eVisa with iVisa

1

Complete your online application

Answer a few simple questions, upload your passport, see when you’ll get your eVisa, and pay using secure methods. You can save your progress and come back anytime. Most people finish in under 10 minutes.

The Bahrain Tourist eVisa is our most popular travel document for this destination. We’ll guide you through any unclear questions during the application process.

2

We review your application

The Bahrain eVisa system is known for being strict – your photo must be the right size, and your passport scan must be clear.

Don’t worry – we review your whole application to catch anything that might cause delays. One of our experts checks everything for errors or missing information to make sure it’s ready to go. This review is quick but thorough.

3

We submit it for government processing

We’re not the government, but we submit your application to them and are here for you along the way if there are any problems.

4

Get your Bahrain Tourist eVisa

We’ll email the approved eVisa and tell you how to use it for your trip.

💡Pro-tip: Use the same name format as in your passport. Even small mismatches (like middle names or hyphens) can delay approval.

Bahrain Golden Residency Visa

The Bahrain Golden Residency Visa is a long-term residence permit introduced by the Bahraini government in 2022 to attract investors, professionals, and high-income individuals who contribute to the country’s economy.

It’s a renewable 10-year residence visa that allows foreign nationals and their immediate family members to live, work, and study in Bahrain with fewer restrictions. It’s part of Bahrain’s strategy to retain talent, attract global investors, and boost its competitiveness in the Gulf region.

Bahrain visa policy

Bahrain has a relatively liberal visa policy aimed at encouraging tourism, investment, and short-term visits. Citizens of more than 100 countries are eligible to apply for a Bahrain Tourist eVisa online in advance of travel. Some nationalities may also qualify for a visa on arrival at the airport, but applying online is highly recommended to avoid long queues or possible entry delays.

The standard Tourist eVisa is typically issued for 14 or 30 days, with options for single or multiple entry depending on your nationality and travel purpose. Extensions may be granted through Bahrain’s Nationality, Passports & Residence Affairs (NPRA), but applications must be submitted before your initial visa expires. The eVisa cannot be used for work, long-term study, or residency purposes.

In addition to the eVisa, Bahrain offers other visa types, such as business, family visit, student, and employment visas. These must be obtained through sponsorship or direct application with the NPRA. Travelers entering Bahrain must hold a passport valid for at least six months, proof of onward or return travel, and details of accommodation.

Bahrain also introduced a 10-year Golden Residency Visa for investors, property owners, and high-income individuals contributing to the national economy. This long-term visa offers more flexibility and allows holders to live, work, and study in the country without the need for a local sponsor.

While some Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) residents may qualify for streamlined visa access, eligibility depends on both nationality and occupation. Overstaying a Bahraini visa can lead to fines, detention, or future entry bans, so travelers should carefully monitor the expiry date of their stay and apply for an extension in advance if necessary. All visa and entry regulations are enforced by the NPRA, and failure to comply may impact future travel to Bahrain or the wider Gulf region.

FAQs

This visa allows you to stay in the country for either 14 or 30 days.

If you’re unclear, you can contact us on WhatsApp – we're available 24/7.

The standard processing time for the Bahrain Tourist eVisa is around three to five business days, but some travelers may receive their approved visa within 24 hours, especially if the documents are clear and complete.

During peak travel seasons or public holidays in Bahrain, processing may take slightly longer. It’s always a good idea to apply at least a week in advance to avoid unexpected delays.

This depends on the purpose of your visit, your nationality, and your length of stay. Most travelers coming for tourism or short business visits will need a Bahrain Tourist eVisa, which can be applied for online.

This visa allows you to stay in the country for either 14 or 30 days, depending on your eligibility and whether you apply for a single-entry or multiple-entry visa. If you plan to work, study, or stay longer than 30 days, you'll need a different type of visa issued through Bahrain’s Nationality, Passports & Residence Affairs (NPRA) or through a sponsor in Bahrain. Always check the latest requirements for your nationality before booking your trip.

You can apply for your eVisa through the government or iVisa (or download our mobile app).

For other visas, you’ll need to complete the application process through the government, pay the visa fee, and in some cases, schedule an interview at a Bahrain embassy or consulate.

Supporting documents like your passport, photo, and purpose of travel are required.

A visa on arrival is available for some nationalities, but not all. While travelers from countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, EU member states, Canada, and a few others may still be eligible to receive a visa upon arrival at the airport in Bahrain, this option is not guaranteed.

Rules often change without advance notice, and travelers report occasional long queues or complications.

Yes, it is possible to extend your Bahrain eVisa in many cases, but you must apply before your current visa expires.

Extensions are handled by the NPRA and may require you to visit their office in Bahrain or complete the process online, depending on your visa type. Extensions are generally granted in 14- or 30-day increments and may come with additional fees.

If you overstay your visa without applying for an extension, you risk fines or complications with future travel to Bahrain or the wider Gulf region.

No, you cannot work in Bahrain on a Tourist eVisa. This visa is strictly for leisure travel or family visits, and any kind of paid employment or freelance activity is prohibited under this visa category. If you are caught working on a tourist visa, you risk fines, detention, or a ban from re-entering Bahrain.

Yes, you can still apply for a Bahrain visa if you’ve previously visited Israel, but your application may undergo more scrutiny. This is a common concern among travelers. Since the signing of the Abraham Accords, relations between Bahrain and Israel have normalized, and most applicants with Israeli stamps in their passports have not reported any issues. However, if you hold an Israeli passport, the process may be different, and you should consult the Bahrain embassy or consulate for the latest requirements.

Our team of iVisa experts will review your documents to make sure you have the best chance of being approved.

We then send it to the government for processing on your behalf.

Once your visa is approved, we’ll then email you your document.

In the meantime, download the iVisa app, so you can access your travel documents while you're on the go.
