Our Cambodia visa application process

How to apply for your Cambodia visa with iVisa

1

Complete your online application

Answer a few simple questions to find out whether you need a Cambodia Tourist eVisa, Business eVisa, e-Arrival Card, or another Cambodian document. Then, upload your documents and pay securely. You can save your progress and come back anytime. Most people finish in less than 10 minutes.

We’ll guide you through any unclear questions during the application process.

2

We review your application

The Cambodia eVisa system is known for being a bit picky – your photo must be the right size, and your passport scan must be clear.

Don’t worry – we review your whole application to catch anything that might cause delays. One of our experts checks everything for errors or missing information to make sure it’s ready to go. This review is quick but thorough.

3

We submit it for government processing

We’re not the government, but we submit your application to them and are here for you along the way if there are any problems.

4

Get your Cambodia eVisa

We’ll email your approved visa and let you know how to use it for your trip.

Cambodia Tourist eVisa

Purpose: The Cambodia Tourist eVisa is for foreign nationals visiting for tourism, sightseeing, or visiting family and friends.

When to apply: It’s recommended to apply at least 3 working days before travel.

Duration and extensions: The visa allows a stay of up to 30 days and is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. It can be extended once for an additional 30 days at the Department of Immigration in Phnom Penh.

Entries: The visa is strictly for a single entry.

Ports of entry: Holders can enter through Phnom Penh, Siem Reap-Angkor, and Sihanoukville International Airports, as well as the land borders at Bavet (Vietnam) and Tropaeng Kreal (Laos).

Delivery format: An approved eVisa is sent via email as a PDF. Travelers must print two copies of the certificate—one for entry and one for departure.

Cambodia Business eVisa

Purpose: The Cambodia Business eVisa (officially known as the Ordinary Visa) is for individuals visiting for business meetings, investment, work, or long-term residence.

When to apply: It’s recommended to apply at least 3 working days in advance.

Duration and extensions: The initial visa allows a stay of 30 days. It can be extended indefinitely for periods of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months at the Department of Immigration.

Entries: The initial eVisa is single entry, but 6-month and 12-month extensions permit multiple entries.

Ports of entry: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap-Angkor, and Sihanoukville Airports, plus Bavet and Tropaeng Kreal land borders.

Delivery format: Approved as a PDF via email. Travelers must print two copies to present to immigration authorities.

Cambodia e-Arrival Card

Purpose: The Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA) is a mandatory digital declaration that replaces the previous paper immigration, health, and customs forms.

When to apply: You must submit the form within 7 days before your arrival in Cambodia.

Duration and extensions: The card is valid only for a single entry. It does not grant or extend a stay; that is determined by your visa status.

Entries: A new e-Arrival submission is required for every entry into the country.

Ports of entry: It is mandatory for all travelers arriving by air at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap-Angkor, and Sihanoukville International Airports.

Delivery format: Upon submission, you will receive a QR code. You should save a screenshot on your phone or print a copy to be scanned by immigration officers upon arrival.

Long-Stay and Residency Visas*

This is the entry permit for individuals intending to stay long-term. Initially valid for 30 days as a single-entry visa, it must be extended within Cambodia into specific subclasses to remain legal. The EB subclass is for those working or self-employed, the ER is for retirees aged 55 and older, the ES is for students enrolled in registered institutions, the EG is for job seekers, and the EP is for those exploring business opportunities. Extensions for six or 12 months allow multiple entries and can be renewed indefinitely.

*We currently don’t offer these visas.

Khmer Visa (Type K)*

This is a special permanent visa for individuals of Cambodian descent who hold a foreign passport. It’s issued exclusively to those born to at least one Cambodian parent. It’s a multiple-entry visa valid for the life of the passport and is issued free of charge upon providing proof of Khmer origin.

*We currently don’t offer this visa.

Diplomatic, Official, and Courtesy Visas (Types A, B, and C)*

These are specialized visas for government-related or official travel. Type A and B visas are for diplomats and government officials on official missions, while the Type C Courtesy visa is for staff of international NGOs with a valid Memorandum of Understanding or invited guests of the Cambodian government. These visas are generally multiple-entry and are issued free of charge to qualified applicants.

*We currently don’t offer these visas.

Cambodia visa policy

Most foreign nationals, including US citizens, must obtain a visa before traveling to Cambodia for tourism, business, study, work, or other purposes. Cambodia offers a Visa on Arrival (VoA) service for many nationalities at major airports and land borders, though using the eVisa system is recommended. Citizens of ASEAN countries (including Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia) do not require a visa for stays up to 14 or 30 days.

Travelers entering Cambodia by air are required to complete a mandatory Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA) form within seven days before arrival.

General Cambodia visa requirements are:

  • Passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and at least one blank page

  • Recent digital photo

  • Travel details (such as arrival date and port of entry)

  • Proof of sufficient financial means for the duration of stay

  • Additional supporting documents depending on visa type (e.g., business invitation or employment contract for an ordinary/business visa)

FAQs

This depends on the visa type. The Cambodia eVisa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue and allows a single-entry stay of up to 30 days.

The eVisa is for tourism and business stays and must be approved before travel. The e-Arrival Card is a digital entry form that replaces the paper immigration and customs forms. You’ll still need to apply for a visa separately.

You can stay for up to 30 days. If you need more time, you may be able to extend your visa for another 30 days through Cambodia’s immigration department.

No. You’ll need a sticker visa and a valid Cambodian work permit to legally work in the country.

Yes. Most tourist and business visas can be extended once for 30 days. Visit a Cambodian immigration office to start the extension process before your visa expires.

Overstaying your visa can result in daily fines and may cause issues when you try to leave or re-enter Cambodia in the future. Always apply for an extension in advance or leave before your visa expires.

If you’re transiting through Cambodia and won’t leave the airport, you may not need a visa. If you plan to leave the airport or stay overnight, you will need a valid visa.

Our experts check your application to make sure it’s accurate and complete. Once approved by the government, we’ll send your official document straight to your email inbox. In the meantime, download the iVisa app so you can access your travel documents while you're on the go.
