As of December 2017, US citizens have access to Egypt electronic visas. As a result, an Egypt visa for US citizens has never been so easy to obtain. You are no longer required to visit Egypt’s embassy to get your document. Instead, you can use iVisa and get you visa completing an online process. It is affordable, fast, and efficient. It cannot get any better than that.
What is required of you?
In order to get started, you need to provide a few things. The requirements are easy to meet, and you should have no issues getting everything you need. Here is a list of what you are required to provide:
A valid passport – if you do not have a passport, you can get one easily. If you have one, make sure that it is valid and will remain as such at least for another six months from your date of arrival in Egypt. Otherwise, your visa application will be denied.
A scan of the information page of your passport – you will be required to upload it in step three of the application form.
Means of payment – since you are required to make the payment before you submit your application (step two of the application,) you need to have a credit or debit card ready. If you have a Paypal account, you should know that iVisa accepts that as well.
A valid e-mail address – iVisa will send you the document via e-mail, which means that there is no room for error when you fill in the application. If you fail to type in the correct address, you will not have access to your visa, which is most unfortunate because you have to go through the application process again. Double-check the spelling before you submit your application, and you should be fine. Once you have gathered everything on the list, you can move on to the application form. It should take about 20 minutes to complete.
Egypt Visa for US citizens – processing time and fees
Two factors will determine the cost of your visa: the processing time and the visa type. As for the first one, iVisa gives you three options:
Standard processing time – when you select this option, your Egypt e-visa will arrive via e-mail within 5 business days. This is the cheapest processing time you have at hand. It costs only $50. $25 is the price of the visa itself, and the other half goes to iVisa as a service fee.
Rush processing time – this option will shorten the application processing time by one day. Your application will be processed within four business days, and you will be charged $80.
Super Rush processing time – if you have an emergency and need to be on a plane to Egypt as fast as possible, this is the option for you. Your application will be processed within 3 business days. As you may have guessed, the price goes higher as well. You will be charged $115.
As for the visa type, the cost of a single-entry visa can be found above, and a multiple-entry visa costs $35 more. Both will allow you to stay in Egypt for maximum 30 days.
It is easy to see that an Egypt visa for US citizens cannot be more straightforward to obtain. The fact that you do not have to go to an embassy is a huge selling point, and the process is a piece of cake. However, if you need help with any of it, you can contact iVisa’s support service. Someone will take your call 24/7.
