Ghanaian citizens need Nigeria's new digital landing card – even without a visa

If you're traveling from Ghana to Nigeria, there's a new rule you can’t ignore. While Ghanaian passport holders can still enter Nigeria visa-free under ECOWAS agreements, the Nigerian government now requires all foreign arrivals to complete a digital Landing Card before boarding your flight.

What is the Nigeria Landing Card?

The Nigeria Landing Card is a digital form introduced by the Nigerian Immigration Service in May 2025. It replaces the old paper arrival cards that were previously handed out on the plane.

The new online version must be filled in between 96 and 24 hours before your arrival in Nigeria. Once submitted, it’s sent to your email inbox. It allows immigration authorities to prepare for your arrival and streamline screening at the airport.

• Visa-free entry still applies to Ghanaian passport holders
• Landing Card is now required for air arrivals - no exceptions
• Submit it 1 to 4 days before your flight, then keep a copy on your phone or printed
• It’s delivered via email within minutes after submission
• You’ll also need to complete an Exit Card when leaving Nigeria (more on that below)

What Ghanaian travelers need to complete the Landing Card

Make sure you have the following requirements ready:

✔️ Your valid Ghanaian passport

✔️ Flight information: airline name, flight number, and arrival time

✔️ The address of your stay in Nigeria (e.g., hotel or host)

✔️ Active email address to receive the confirmation

How to apply for the Nigeria Landing Card as a Ghanaian citizen

You can apply in a few simple steps using iVisa’s secure platform or mobile app:

2️⃣ Fill in your flight and accommodation information.

3️⃣ Submit the form — your confirmation will arrive by email shortly after.

4️⃣ Download or print your Landing Card to show on arrival in Nigeria.

Don't forget: Nigeria Exit Card

Before leaving Nigeria, all travelers, including Ghanaians, must also complete a digital Exit Card.

It's required for all air departures and must be filled out within 96 hours before your flight home. Submit it on the official site. We don't provide this document currently, but if you come across any issues, contact iVisa support for help.
