Why Register with the Embassy

Travel Registration is a service provided by the government. This service allows you to record information about your upcoming trip abroad to the Department of State so it can be used to assist you in case of an emergency. People residing abroad can also get routine information from their nearest embassy or consulate if registered.

Required Information to Apply

Once You Have Registered With Your Embassy Or Consulate, You Will Need To Update Your Data If:

  • your contact details change,
  • your civil status changes,
  • you are going back to your home country.

Yes. After submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation QR code. This must be presented—digitally or printed—upon arrival at immigration control in Nigeria. Failure to provide the QR code may result in denied entry or delays.

You must complete the form online within 72 hours of your arrival via the official Nigeria Immigration Service portal.

You can also complete it earlier via iVisa. It is recommended to complete it well in advance to avoid delays or denied boarding.

You’ll be asked for your passport details, flight number, country of departure, address in Nigeria, contact phone number, and answers to health-related questions such as recent symptoms or exposure to infectious diseases.
