Does the Nigeria eVisa replace the Visa on Arrival (VoA) system?

Yes. As of May 2025, Nigeria officially phased out the old Visa on Arrival system for most travelers. You must now apply for a Short Visit Visa (eVisa) online before you fly. You can no longer simply show up at the airport and apply from scratch; the eVisa is mandatory to board your flight.

What is the Nigeria Landing Card?

All travelers (including Nigerians with dual citizenship) must complete an electronic landing and exit card online at least 72 hours before boarding. This system is integrated with the eVisa to track your stay duration automatically. Failure to present the card can result in boarding denials or fines at the airport.

Can I extend my Nigeria eVisa while in the country?

No. Under the updated 2025/2026 visa policy, most short-visit eVisas (tourism and business) are strictly non-extendable. If you need to stay longer than the days granted, you must leave the country and apply for a new visa. Overstaying triggers an automatic fine and can lead to a 5-year entry ban.

Do I need a CAC Certificate for a Business eVisa?

Yes. If you’re applying for a Business eVisa, you must upload a copy of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Certificate of the Nigerian company inviting you. This is a mandatory requirement to prove the business is legally registered in Nigeria. An invitation letter alone is usually insufficient without this document.

Can I apply for my family as a group?

Yes. The Nigerian eVisa portal now supports group applications for up to 10 people. This allows one person to submit details and pay fees for the entire party at once, ensuring all applications are processed together for the same travel dates.

How long does the Nigeria eVisa processing take?

Do children/minors need their own Nigeria eVisa?
