- What it is
- A mandatory arrival and departure declaration run by the Nigeria Immigration Service, replacing the paper form that used to be handed out on the plane. It is not a visa and it grants no permission to enter, which is decided separately by your visa or exemption status.
- Who it's for
- Effectively every foreign national entering or leaving Nigeria, including visa-exempt ECOWAS nationals. Nigerian citizens traveling on a Nigerian passport are exempt from the Landing Card, though the Exit Card still applies to them if they leave on a foreign passport. Transit passengers do not need it.

The system for the application is clear and easy to follow. There was some confusion and inconsistencies about my application because persons responding from customer support were saying different things. In addition, I paid for a service that was forgotten and the staff in customer didn't trust me in the beginning until they find out after 7 hours of exchange of WhatsApp messages. Do I need a Nigeria Landing Card even if I don't need a visa?
Yes. The Digital Landing Card is a mandatory entry and exit requirement for every person entering or leaving Nigeria, including visa-exempt citizens (such as ECOWAS nationals) and dual citizens using a foreign passport. It has officially replaced the old paper arrival/departure cards.
Do I need a visa for Nigeria?
It depends on your nationality. Nigeria's visa policy generally falls into three categories: Visa-free: Citizens of ECOWAS member states (e.g., Ghana, Benin, Senegal) and countries with visa abolition agreements (e.g., Cameroon, Chad) can enter Nigeria without a visa. eVisa: Most international travelers (including citizens of the US, UK, Canada, and EU) must obtain a visa before traveling. Nigeria has a robust eVisa system for short-term visits (tourism and business) that can be completed entirely online. Visa on Arrival: This is primarily reserved for business travelers from specific countries or high-net-worth investors who have received an approval letter from the Nigeria Immigration Service before they depart. Important: Regardless of whether you need a visa, the Nigeria Landing Card (LE-Card) is mandatory for everyone entering or exiting the country.
How will I receive the Nigeria Landing Card?
You will receive a PDF confirmation receipt via email. You must present this (on your mobile device or as a printed copy) to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officer at the port of entry. You can also find a copy of your Landing Card confirmation in your iVisa dashboard if applied through us.
How long can I stay in Nigeria?
Short-visit e-Visas typically allow for a stay of 30 to 90 days depending on the specific category issued and/or your nationality. For stays longer than 56 days for business or employment, you must apply for a CERPAC (Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Alien Card).
When should I apply for the Landing Card?
The Nigeria Immigration Service portal allows submissions within 72 hours (3 days) of your arrival. We recommend submitting your details to iVisa ahead of time so we can process it as soon as the window opens.
Do children/minors need a Nigeria Landing Card?
Yes. Every traveler, regardless of age, must have their own completed declaration. Parents or guardians can complete the form on behalf of minors. You can use iVisa's "Add another person" feature to easily manage applications for the whole family in one session, saving time and effort.
Can I reuse my Nigeria Landing Card?
No. It is for single entry/exit only. You must complete a new Nigeria Landing Card registration every time you enter and exit the country. If you've applied through iVisa, we can also process your exit details.
