Yes. The Digital Landing Card is a mandatory entry and exit requirement for every person entering or leaving Nigeria, including visa-exempt citizens (such as ECOWAS nationals) and dual citizens using a foreign passport. It has officially replaced the old paper arrival/departure cards.

It depends on your nationality. Nigeria’s visa policy generally falls into three categories:

• Visa-free: Citizens of ECOWAS member states (e.g., Ghana, Benin, Senegal) and countries with visa abolition agreements (e.g., Cameroon, Chad) can enter Nigeria without a visa.

• eVisa: Most international travelers (including citizens of the US, UK, Canada, and EU) must obtain a visa before traveling. Nigeria has a robust eVisa system for short-term visits (tourism and business) that can be completed entirely online.

• Visa on Arrival: This is primarily reserved for business travelers from specific countries or high-net-worth investors who have received an approval letter from the Nigeria Immigration Service before they depart.

Important: Regardless of whether you need a visa, the Nigeria Landing Card (LE-Card) is mandatory for everyone entering or exiting the country.

You will receive a PDF confirmation receipt via email. You must present this (on your mobile device or as a printed copy) to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officer at the port of entry.

Short-visit e-Visas typically allow for a stay of 30 to 90 days depending on the specific category issued and/or your nationality. For stays longer than 56 days for business or employment, you must apply for a CERPAC (Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Alien Card).

The Nigeria Immigration Service portal allows submissions within 72 hours (3 days) of your arrival or departure. We recommend submitting your details to iVisa ahead of time so we can process it as soon as the window opens.
