Yes. Bhutanese citizens are required to obtain a visa before entering Thailand. In addition, all travelers, regardless of visa status, must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before their trip.

So if you’re a Bhutanese traveler, you’ll need:

• A valid Thai visa (such as a tourist visa or visa on arrival, depending on your entry point)
• A completed Thailand Digital Arrival Card submitted before arrival

🛂 Current visa options for Bhutanese travelers

Bhutanese citizens can enter Thailand with one of the following:

1. Visa on Arrival (VOA): Bhutan is currently on the list of countries eligible for a Visa on Arrival. This is issued at select airports in Thailand and allows a stay of up to 15 days.

2. Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVOA): Through iVisa, travelers can pre-register for their Visa on Arrival to speed up processing on arrival at major international airports in Thailand, including:

📩 What is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card?

Aside from a visa, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card is a required online entry form for all travelers, including Bhutanese citizens. It must be completed and submitted at least 72 hours before arrival, and you'll need to show it to immigration officers when you land.

It's not a visa and doesn't replace one, and you do need both to enter.
