Thailand Digital Arrival Card

Thailand’s Digital Arrival Card is a mandatory form that all travelers entering the Kingdom must complete. It replaces the pen-and-paper custom form typically handed out during the flight.

Validity: For each entry into Thailand. A new form must be completed upon every entry.

All travelers, including Thai nationals and residents, must complete this form before entry.
The Thailand DAC is not a visa. You’ll still need the relevant travel documents as set forth by the Thai authorities.

Purpose

For persons traveling to Thailand for leisure or tourism.

Extension: Extendable while in Thailand for 7 days.

Study Visa*

Purpose: For any individual traveling to Thailand for educational purposes. This includes:
1. School pupils – elementary to secondary levels

6. Religious studies as a monk, nun, pries,t or to study Dharma

Purpose: For persons transiting through Thailand with a stopover of more than 12 hours.

Extension: Not extendable.

5. Sports participation visa

Purpose: For individuals participating in a sporting event in Thailand.
Validity: 3 months or 6 months of availability.
Entries: 1/2/3 or 4 entries per visa, as applied for.

6. Non-Immigrant B Employment visa

Purpose: For persons seeking short-term employment in Thailand
Validity: 3 months.
Entries: Single entry.
Stay Period: As indicated on the visa granted.

7. Non-Immigrant B Business Visit visa

Purpose: For persons traveling to Thailand regularly for business purposes.
Validity: 3 months or 1 year available, depending on the number of entries.
Entries: Single and multiple entries.
Stay Period: As indicated on the visa granted.
Extension: Not extendable.

8. Non-Immigrant B Frequent Business Visit visa

Purpose: For persons traveling to Thailand regularly for business purposes over a period of less than 3 years.
Validity: 3 years.

9. Non-Immigrant B Internship visa

Purpose: For persons traveling to Thailand for an internship at a qualifying organization.
Validity: 3 months.

10. Non-Immigrant B Teacher/Trainer/Coach/Instructor visa

Purpose: For persons traveling to Thailand to work or volunteer as a teacher, sports trainer, coach, or instructor for a period shorter than 3 months.

Thailand visa policy

Thailand’s visa policy varies by nationality, purpose of visit, and length of stay. Many travelers enter visa free under the Visa Exemption Scheme for 30 or 45 days, depending on bilateral agreements and seasonal rules. Eligible travelers must hold a valid passport and proof of onward travel. Those not eligible may apply for a Tourist Visa, which allows up to 60 days with a one time extension.

Thailand also issues Non Immigrant Visas for other purposes. The Non Immigrant B Visa covers business and employment. The ED Visa is for students. The O Visa is for family visits, retirees, or volunteers. Retirees aged 50 and above may apply for long stay O A or O X Visas with renewable terms. Transit Visas are available for travelers passing through Thailand to another destination.

Other visa categories include diplomatic, official, and courtesy visas for government officials and formal missions. Travelers may also need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before entry. Depending on nationality, some must apply for an eVisa through the official Thai eVisa platform, while others apply directly at a Thai embassy or consulate.

Travelers should confirm current requirements with the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Thai Immigration Bureau, as entry rules are updated from time to time.
