Do I need a visa to travel to Türkiye?

It depends on your nationality. While many countries (like those in the EU, UK, US, and Canada) are visa-exempt for stays up to 90 days, citizens of dozens of others must obtain an eVisa.

How will I receive the Turkey eVisa?

Your eVisa will be sent to you as a PDF via email. While Turkish border officials can verify your visa digitally using your passport, it is highly recommended to keep a printed copy or a digital version on your phone in case of local system outages at the border.

Can I work in Türkiye on a Tourist eVisa?

No. The eVisa is strictly for tourism and light business commerce (such as attending conferences, meetings, or trade fairs). If you intend to work or study in Türkiye, you must apply for a specific visa through a Turkish Embassy or Consulate.

How long does the Turkey eVisa processing take?

Do children/minors need a Turkish eVisa?

Can I extend my stay in Türkiye?

You cannot extend a Turkey eVisa online. If you wish to stay longer than your visa allows, you must apply for a residence permit at a Provincial Directorate of Migration Management before your visa expires. Overstaying can result in heavy fines and travel bans.

Are Türkiye and Turkey the same country?

Yes. In 2022, the country officially changed its international name to Türkiye to better represent its culture. While we use the official name in documentation, we may still refer to it as "Turkey" for search and clarity purposes.

Do I need the Turkey eVisa to transit in the country?

If you stay in the international transit area and do not pass through immigration, you do not need a visa. However, if you plan to leave the airport or if your connection requires you to clear customs to re-check bags for a self-transfer, an eVisa is mandatory.
