Can I apply for a visa extension or renewal?
The Tourist eVisa allows travelers to stay 30 days in Total in the country and request a visa extension twice, which you can also call a visa renewal. Each extension permits another 30 days-stay. However, since December 2022, travelers must leave the UAE to request a visa extension.
Another option is to leave the country and apply for a new UAE Tourist eVisa. The new visa will grant you the same length of stay.
Be aware that overstayers have to pay 100 AED per day and 100 AED service costs paid at the border crossing. So its best to leave the UAE with the visa still valid.
Do I need a visa if I am transiting through the UAE?
Yes. In this case, you can apply for a UAE transit visa that permits the holder to stay in the country for up to four days. You can obtain it online, and it is valid at all airlines and airports in the UAE.
