Vietnam visa for citizens of the Netherlands

With a rich history as one of the earliest centers of agriculture, particularly wet rice farming, Vietnam is a country steeped in cultural and historical significance. Shaped like an elongated 'S,' it rests on the eastern edge of the Indochina peninsula. Vietnam shares its northern border with China, while Laos and Cambodia lie to its west. The Eastern Sea, also known as the South China Sea, borders it to the east.

Dutch citizens have three main options for obtaining a visa to Vietnam:

  1. The traditional route is via the Vietnamese embassy in the Netherlands, where applications can be made in person or by post.

  2. There's the option of a Visa on Arrival, which requires an approval letter from a Vietnamese visa agency before travel.

  3. The Vietnam eVisa presents a convenient online option.

Tourist visas to Vietnam typically come in 30-day or 90-day durations. Applicants can choose between a single or multiple-entry option. These visas can be extended once you are in Vietnam, though this comes at an additional cost.

For those interested in exploring Phu Quoc, you can visit the tropical island without a visa for up to 30 days. However, this visa-free access requires you to enter Phu Quoc by air. If you wish to explore more of Vietnam beyond Phu Quoc or extend your stay beyond 30 days, you must get a visa.

Do Dutch citizens need a Vietnam eVisa?

For Dutch citizens wishing to visit Vietnam, securing a Vietnam eVisa is mandatory.

Vietnam expanded its eVisa program in August 2023 to include travelers from all countries, aiming to boost international tourism and make the country more welcoming to visitors worldwide. This was a significant change from the previous policy, which limited eVisa eligibility to only 80 countries. Moreover, the number of entry ports accepting the eVisa increased from 38 to 42.

Your entry into Vietnam is limited to the port of entry specified on your eVisa. After your application is submitted and the eVisa is issued, altering this designated entry point isn't possible. Needing to enter through a different port necessitates a new visa application.

Opting for our service for your Vietnam eVisa application offers several benefits over doing it yourself.
