Austria Hallsatt Landscape

What is the Austria Schengen Visa?

The Austria Schengen Visa can be used to explore the country, as well as the 26 other countries in the Schengen zone:

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Here’s what you can use the Schengen Visa for:

  • Explore Austria and the Schengen area for tourism purposes.

  • Visit family and friends living in the Schengen Zone.

  • Do business and scientific research.

  • Go to Austria for health reasons.

  • Participate in training placements and short studies.

  • Play sports and participate in cultural activities.

However, you can’t work, receive payments, or live in Austria with this visa. Apply for a work visa or residence permit through the Austrian government website.

How long can I stay in the country with the Austria Schengen Visa?

This Austrian Visa is a Multiple Entry document, with a maximum permitted stay of 90 days Per Entry within 180 days.

This means you can enter and leave Austria as often as you like to visit other countries in the Schengen area during those 90 days.

When applying with us, we submit an application for a Multiple Entry visa, but it’s still up to the Austrian consulate or embassy to decide if you'll receive a multiple-entry, double-entry, or single-entry visa, based on your individual circumstances.

Citizens from over 100 countries, including Egypt, need a visa to enter the country.

Children and minors from Egypt also need an Austria Schengen Visa. Simply apply together as a family by clicking ‘Add another person’ during the online iVisa process!

  2. Practice answering interview questions: The visa interview is an opportunity for the consular officer to learn more about your travel plans and intentions. 3. Dress appropriately: Avoid wearing anything too casual or revealing. Jeans and a neat shirt should be fine.
