Barbados ED Card
Purpose: The Barbados ED Card (Electronic Passenger Customs and Immigration Form) is a mandatory digital document for all travelers—including residents and visitors—to provide immigration and customs declarations before entering the country.
When to apply: It must be completed within 72 hours of arrival in Barbados. It’s strongly recommended to submit it at least 24 hours before departure.
Duration and extensions: This document is an entry requirement and doesn't dictate stay duration. Most visitors are granted a stay of up to 6 months upon arrival.
Entries: A new ED Card must be submitted for every entry into Barbados.
Ports of entry: Mandatory for travelers arriving at Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) and the Bridgetown Port.
Delivery format: Upon submission, an email with a receipt and a QR code is sent to the traveler. This receipt must be saved to a mobile device or printed to be presented to immigration and customs officials at the border.
Entry Visa (Tourist and Business)*
This is for travelers from visa-required countries visiting for tourism, holidays, or business meetings. A single-entry visa is valid for 3 months, while a multiple-entry visa is valid for 6 months. You must obtain this before travel; it's issued as a letter to be presented at the border for a passport endorsement.

Welcome Stamp (Digital Nomad Visa)*
This visa is for remote workers, freelancers, and entrepreneurs employed by entities outside Barbados. To qualify, you must earn a specified amount. It's valid for 12 months, allows for multiple entries, and is renewable. Holders are exempt from local income tax on their foreign-sourced earnings.

Student Visa*
This permit is for non-nationals enrolled in a primary, secondary, or tertiary educational institution in Barbados. It requires an acceptance letter from a school registered with the Ministry of Education and proof of financial support. It's typically valid for one to three years (renewable) or for the duration of the course.

Short-Term Work Permit*
This is for individuals coming to Barbados for specific temporary work assignments or training. It's employer-sponsored and can't be obtained by the individual alone. It's valid for a period of up to 11 months and isn't usually renewable.

Long-Term Work Permit*
This permit is for foreign professionals filling a role that couldn't be satisfied by a local Barbadian or CARICOM national. The employer must provide evidence of local recruitment efforts. It's generally valid for up to 3 years and can be extended.

Special Entry and Reside Permit (SERP)*
This is for high-net-worth individuals, retirees, or investors who want to live in Barbados without working locally. It's ideal for those purchasing property or making significant investments on the island. Depending on the category and the applicant's age, it can be valid for 5 years or for a lifetime.
