India visa policy

Most foreign nationals, including U.S. citizens, must obtain a visa before traveling to India for tourism, business, medical treatment, study, work, or other purposes. India offers a limited Visa on Arrival (VoA) service exclusively for citizens of Japan, South Korea, and the UAE (holding ordinary passports) for tourism, business, conference, or medical visits up to 60 days. Citizens of Nepal and Bhutan do not require a visa.

Travelers entering India by air may also be required to complete an India e-Arrival Card before departure, which is a mandatory immigration form and does not replace the requirement for a valid visa.

General India visa requirements are:

  • Passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and at least two blank pages
  • Recent photo
  • Valid email address
  • Travel details (such as flight information and accommodation address)
  • Proof of sufficient financial means for the duration of stay
  • Additional supporting documents depending on visa type (e.g., business invitation letter for e-Business Visa, hospital letter for e-Medical Visa)

FAQs

This depends on the visa you’re issued. If you’re unclear, you can contact us on WhatsApp – we're available 24/7.

We’ll process your eVisa as fast as fastest processing speed – you’ll see the exact time during checkout.

Not quite. Your eVisa lets you enter through 26 specific airports (like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc.) and five seaports (including Cochin and Chennai). But the good news? You can leave India from any authorized Immigration Check Post.

If you’re staying in the airport transit zone and not going through immigration, you don’t need a visa.

Yes – you can apply for an eVisa up to three times in a calendar year (January to December).

We recommend applying at least 2 weeks before you arrive, but you can apply up to 120 days in advance.

That depends on your visa type:

  • Tourist and Business eVisas: Up to 30 or 60 days with double- or multiple-entries allowed.

  • Medical eVisa: Up to 60 days with 3 entries allowed.

No – if you need to stay longer, you’ll have to leave the country and apply for a new visa. Most visas allow multiple entries.
