Kuwait eVisa

Purpose: The Kuwait eVisa allows eligible travelers to visit Kuwait for tourism and short leisure stays.

When to apply: It must be obtained before travel. We recommend applying at least a few days before departure.

Processing time: Most applications are processed within a few business days, depending on nationality and application volume.

Duration and extensions: The eVisa typically allows a stay of up to 90 days from the date of entry. Extensions are generally not permitted for tourist stays.

Entries: Single entry.

Delivery format: This is a digital visa issued online and linked electronically to your passport. Travelers must present the approved eVisa upon arrival in Kuwait.

Kuwait Visa on Arrival (VoA)*

The Kuwait Visa on Arrival is available to eligible nationalities and is issued at designated entry points in Kuwait. It allows short stays for tourism purposes and is granted upon arrival after submitting the required documents and paying the applicable fee. Eligibility depends on nationality and travel conditions.

Kuwait Business Visa*

The Kuwait Business Visa is issued to travelers visiting Kuwait for professional purposes such as meetings, negotiations, or company visits. It typically requires sponsorship from a Kuwaiti company and must be arranged in advance through official channels.

Kuwait Transit Visa*

The Kuwait Transit Visa is issued to travelers passing through Kuwait on their way to another destination. It allows a short stay in the country for transit purposes only and does not permit tourism or employment. Eligibility and permitted stay depend on nationality and itinerary.

Kuwait visa policy

Most foreign nationals must obtain a visa before traveling to Kuwait for tourism, business, or transit purposes. Eligible travelers can apply online for a Kuwait eVisa for Tourism before departure, while certain nationalities may qualify for a Visa on Arrival. Travelers who are not eligible for either option must apply for the appropriate visa category through official Kuwaiti channels in advance.

Visa type, permitted stay, and entry conditions depend on nationality and purpose of travel. Entry into Kuwait is granted at the discretion of immigration authorities.

Can I extend my stay in Kuwait after entering with a tourist eVisa?

No. The Kuwait eVisa for Tourism is generally non-extendable. If you wish to remain in Kuwait beyond the permitted stay, you must exit the country and apply for the appropriate visa category before returning. Overstaying may result in fines or entry restrictions.

Do GCC citizens need a visa to enter Kuwait?

No. Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries do not require a visa to enter Kuwait and may enter using their national passport or approved travel document, subject to entry regulations.

Do I need a visa if I am transiting through Kuwait?

If you remain in the international transit area and do not pass through immigration, a visa is generally not required. If you plan to leave the airport during your layover, you must obtain a Kuwait Transit Visa in advance if your nationality requires one.

Can I use a Kuwait tourist eVisa for business meetings?
