Oman eVisa

Purpose: The Oman eVisa (officially referred to as the Tourist Visit Visa – Unsponsored) is the standard tourist eVisa issued for leisure, visiting family/friends, and short business or conference visits. When to apply: It’s recommended to apply at least a week in advance; the Oman eVisa typically takes 4 working days to process.

Duration and extensions Depending on the type selected (30 days or 1 year), the visa allows stays of 30 days within a 30-day validity period, or 30 days per entry over a 1-year validity period. Extensions of the eVisa are usually not granted.

Entries: The visa is issued as a single-entry (30-day visa) or multiple-entry (1-year visa).

Ports of entry: Oman eVisa can be used at all of Oman’s official ports.

Delivery format: An approved eVisa is electronically linked to your passport, but travelers are advised to carry a printed copy of the approval PDF when entering Oman.

Oman Visa for GCC residents

Purpose: The Oman eVisa for GCC residents is designed for residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries who wish to visit Oman for tourism, family visits, or short business trips. GCC countries include: Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the UAE.

When to apply: It’s recommended to apply at least a week in advance; the Oman GCC Visa typically takes 4 working days to process.

Duration and extensions The Oman GCC Visa allows a stay of 30 days over a 30-day validity period. The GCC Visa can be extended once for an additional 7 to 30 days.

Entries: The visa is issued as a single-entry.

Ports of entry: Oman GCC Visa can be used at all of Oman’s official ports.

Delivery format: An approved GCC Resident Visa is electronically linked to your passport, but travelers are advised to carry a printed copy of the approval PDF when entering Oman.

Visit visa*

Purpose: Tourism, family visits, business meetings, short-term work visits, attending conferences, or meeting with Omani companies

Validity: Up to 30 days

Entries: Single

Extension: Can often be extended for an additional 30 days upon sponsor request through the ROP

Oman visa policy

While many foreign nationals, including U.S., European Union, and UK citizens, can stay in Oman visa-free for 14 days, they must obtain a visa to stay beyond 14 days. An Oman visa is also required when traveling for medical treatment, study, work, or other technical purposes.

Travelers residing in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the UAE with a resident card from said country with at least 6 months of validity can apply for an Oman GCC eVisa.

General Oman visa requirements are:

Passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and at least two blank pages
Recent photo
Valid email address
Travel details (such as flight information and accommodation address)
GCC Resident Permit valid for 6 months when applying for the Oman GCC Resident Visa.
