Updated on Feb 16, 2024

The visa policy of Sri Lanka states that Yemeni citizens who wish to travel to Sri Lanka for business or tourism purposes are not required to obtain a consular visa. Instead, you are eligible for an ETA, which means that you can get a Sri Lanka ETA online. iVisa can make that happen in just 12 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Sri Lanka Tourist ETA?

The Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is the name of the official document that allows travelers to enter Sri Lanka for tourism purposes. If you want to travel for business purposes, you can also apply for a Business ETA here.

How long is my Sri Lanka Tourist ETA valid for?

The Tourist ETA to Sri Lanka is valid for 30 days after arrival.

What do I need to apply for a Sri Lanka ETA?

Both in a Tourist and Business ETA, the requirements remain the same. You'll need:

  • Passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date.

  • Digital passport photo.

  • Credit/debit card or PayPal account for payment. iVisa accepts multiple methods of payment such as credit and debit cards or Paypal.

How is the iVisa application form?

The form you must complete consists of three steps.

  1. The first one covers general information, processing time, and ETA type. When you choose a processing time for your application and a visa type, keep in mind that the cost of your Sri Lanka ETA depends on your decisions. Regarding the processing time, iVisa came up with three options:
  • Standard processing – most people go for this option because it is the cheapest. You receive your Sri Lanka ETA in 3 days, and you only have to pay USD $100.99.

  • Rush processing – for somewhat faster processing, you can choose this option. Your application is processed within 24 hours, and the fee is USD $152.99.

  • Super Rush processing – if you want your ETA as soon as possible, you can choose this option and have your application processed within 12 hours. And the fee is USD $225.99.

As far as the visa type is concerned, you also have the option of applying for a Sri Lanka Business ETA if your trip is for business purposes. The fees differ, though. This visa will cost you an additional $13 for each processing time.

  1. The second step wants you to take care of the payment, but you also have to review your form to make sure that there are no mistakes in it.

  2. And the third requires you to upload a few documents.

As soon as you are done, you are free to submit your application, and iVisa will take care of the rest.

What happens after I have applied?

Once your application is ready, you will receive the e-Visa via email, so you don't need to deal with the embassy. We do it for you so you don't waste valuable time.

Do I need to book a flight before applying for the Tourist ETA?

No, it's not necessary. You can apply for the ETA visa before you have booked your flight.

Do I need to get separate Tourist ETAs for my children?

It depends on the age. Children under 12 years old are exempt from paying the ETA.

How do I know if my Sri Lanka ETA is approved?

We will notify you via email as soon as the Sri Lanka Government approves your ETA.

What can I do if I make a mistake in my application?

If you made a mistake when entering your data online then please contact our customer service representatives as soon as you can via online to help you.

Remember that your ETA is linked to your passport number, if we already submitted your application, then you can NOT make any changes and you will have to apply again but we will NOT charge you another service fee.
