What is the correct passport photo size?
Mark G, USA | July 10, 2024
I’m going to Tanzania for a safari in the Serengeti. I’m stuck at the photo requirements part of the evisa application. It says ‘passport size photo.’ I’ve checked online and some websites suggest a standard US 2x2 inches, and others mention 40mm by 45mm. I can’t figure out what size photo I actually need. Help!
Martin, iVisa | July 12, 2024
The required size for your passport photo for the Tanzania eVisa should be 45mm x 40mm. This is the standard dimension specified by the Tanzanian immigration authorities. Ensure that the photo is recent and reflects your current appearance with a plain white or off-white background. Your head should be positioned directly facing the camera, with a neutral expression.
I'm entering and leaving by land. What should I do?
Emma M, Germany | July 19, 2024
Next month, I’m hitting the road for an epic East African road trip. The plan is to start in Kampala, go to Nairobi, and then travel down to Dar es Salaam. But here's where I hit a snag—I'll be entering and leaving Tanzania by land, not by air. The evisa application needs my flight details. What should I put instead?
Martin, iVisa | July 22, 2024
If you're entering Tanzania by land and don't have flight details to provide on your eVisa application, you can provide a cover letter explaining your mode of entry. This will fulfill the return ticket requirement set by the Tanzanian government. A cover letter is an accepted alternative to a return ticket when entering via land.
Can I re-enter the country with the same visa?
Susan C, UK | July 26, 2024
I plan on visiting Zanzibar in a couple of weeks, but now I’m thinking of adding a short trip to Nairobi to catch up with some friends before going back to Tanzania to finish my holiday. Here’s my question: Can I use the same visa to re-enter Tanzania or do I need to apply for a new one when in Kenya?
Cami, iVisa | July 29, 2024
If you have a single-entry eVisa for Tanzania and you leave the country to visit Nairobi, you will need to apply for a new one to re-enter Tanzania. The single-entry visa is only valid for one entry. Currently, only US citizens are eligible for multiple-entry visas.
My application couldn’t be completed due to an error. What now?
What can I do if my Tanzania Tourist eVisa application has been canceled or rejected?
Remember that iVisa carefully checks every application and reviews your documents, so there isn’t much room for mistakes that could lead to rejection. However, the Tanzanian government could become stricter and cancel or reject your application. In this case, iVisa will provide a full refund of the iVisa processing fee for the number of rejected applicants. Unfortunately, you can’t get a refund for the government fees.
According to your specific case, you may decide to re-apply with iVisa and obtain the Tanzania Tourist eVisa in the future.
After Submission Of My Application, How will I Know That My Visa Has Been Approved?
I Have Completed My Visa Application Online. But I Am Having a Problem Making Payment Using My Master Card. How Can I Proceed?
Do I need to get an e-Visa for each person who accompanies me?
Every visitor to Tanzania must hold their own visa to enter the country. The only exemption is if their nationality doesn’t need a visa to enter Tanzania. The guideline includes minors younger than 18 years old with their own passports.
If parents or legal guardians have children included on their passports, they can also be included on the parent’s/guardian’s visa.
