Most foreign nationals are visa-exempt for Aruba for short stays, but must complete mandatory ED Card requirements before traveling to Aruba for tourism or business. Travelers from over 70 countries can enter for up to 30 or 90 days without a pre-arranged visa. Citizens of the Netherlands and US nationals may stay for up to 180 days per year without a visa.

All travelers entering Aruba by air must complete the Aruba Online ED Card and pay a mandatory $20 Sustainability Fee before departure. The following travelers are not required to pay this fee: residents registered with the Aruba Census, children under 8 years old, visitors arriving and leaving for another destination on the same day, airplane or ship crew members, and visitors returning to Aruba one or more times within the same calendar year.

General Aruba entry requirements are:

  • Passport valid for your entire stay with at least two blank pages
  • Approved Online ED Card
  • Receipt for the $20 Sustainability Fee (unless exempt)
  • Travel details (like a confirmed return or onward ticket and hotel booking)
  • Additional documents depending on nationality (e.g., a Caribbean Short-Stay Visa sticker or yellow fever vaccination certificate if coming from a high-risk region)

FAQs

An ED Card is valid for one entry to Aruba, for your entire stay. Most people can stay up to 30 days, and some up to 180 days.

If you’re unclear, you can contact us on WhatsApp – we're available 24/7.

Most applications are processed instantly or within a few hours after submission and payment of the $20 sustainability fee. However, it’s recommended to apply at least 24 hours before your flight to avoid last-minute issues.

If you're from the US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, or most of South America and the Caribbean, you don’t need a visa for short visits.

However, you must complete the Aruba ED Card online before you travel.

If you're from a country that requires a visa, or you don’t hold a qualifying residence permit or valid multi-entry visa for the US, Canada, Schengen, or UK, you’ll need to apply for the Caribbean Short-Stay Visa at a Dutch embassy or consulate.

You can apply for your ED Card through the government or iVisa (download our mobile app).

For other visas, you’ll need to complete the application process on the government platform, pay the visa fee, and in some cases, schedule an interview at an Aruba embassy or consulate.

Supporting documents like your passport, photo, and purpose of travel are required.

Yes, but you must apply for an extension through DIMAS (the Department of Integration, Management, and Admission of Foreigners) before your initial stay ends.

Extensions are usually granted for valid reasons like medical treatment, long-term tourism, or property ownership. The total allowed stay per calendar year is 180 days.

Overstaying your authorized stay may result in fines, deportation, or even future entry bans. If you need more time, apply for an extension before your current stay expires. DIMAS strictly enforces overstays, especially for non-Dutch citizens.

No. The ED Card is a travel authorization and health declaration, not a visa. It's required for all travelers regardless of nationality, but you may still need a visa depending on your citizenship. The two are separate requirements.

Our team of iVisa experts will review your documents to make sure you have the best chance of being approved.

We then send it to the government for processing on your behalf.

Once your visa is approved, we’ll then email you your document.

In the meantime, download the iVisa app, so you can access your travel documents while you're on the go.
