Canadian visa policy for Cambodian citizens

Cambodian passport holders are not visa-exempt for Canada, so most travelers must apply for a Visitor Visa in advance. An eTA is not available unless the traveler qualifies under special rules (such as having held a Canada visa in the past 10 years, holding a valid US non-immigrant visa, and traveling by air).

iVisa offers two entry documents for Cambodian travelers:

  • Canada Visitor Visa (TRV): A mandatory visa for Cambodian citizens traveling to Canada for tourism, family visits, or short business trips. It is typically issued as a single-entry or multiple-entry and allows stays of up to 6 months per visit, depending on the border officer’s decision.

  • ArriveCAN / Advance CBSA Declaration: A digital travel and customs form that travelers may be asked of recommended to complete before arrival. It collects key travel details and customs declarations to support smoother entry procedures.

General Canada visa requirements for Cambodian travelers are:

  • A Cambodian passport valid for the duration of the stay
  • Photo
  • Biometric data submission (required for Visitor Visa applicants)
  • Confirmed return or onward travel ticket
  • Proof of accommodation and travel itinerary
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
  • Supporting documents showing ties to Cambodia (employment, family, property, etc.)
