Canadian visa policy for Swiss citizens

Swiss citizens do not need a traditional visa to visit Canada for short stays, but they must obtain an approved Canadian eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to fly through a Canadian airport. iVisa offers two entry documents for Swiss travelers:

  • Canadian eTA: A mandatory electronic travel authorization that allows Swiss citizens to travel to Canada by air. It is valid for up to 5 years (or until the passport expires) and permits multiple trips of up to 180 days each.

  • Advance CBSA Declaration: an online customs declaration form that travelers can complete before arrival to save time at the airport and speed up entry procedures.

General Canadian entry requirements for Swiss travelers are:

  • A Switzerland passport valid for the duration of the stay
  • Approved Canadian eTA (required for air travel)
  • Completed Advance CBSA Declaration (recommended)
  • Confirmed return or onward travel ticket
  • Proof of accommodation and travel itinerary
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
