The Indonesian Embassy in Bern lists Switzerland among the countries eligible for the visa on arrival, available at the entry port or online as an eVOA. It allows up to 30 days and can be extended once, to a maximum stay of 60 days. Bring a passport valid 6 months from your entry date and a return or onward ticket. Switzerland's Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) says Swiss citizens have been refused entry on provisional passports. Since 1 October 2025, every traveler must also file the All Indonesia arrival card, in the 3 days before arrival.

It‘ very easy to apply for the Visa, but in advance it’s good to know that you have to upload a passport photo and your passport from the files

Do Swiss citizens need a visa for Indonesia?
Yes, but you do not need to visit an embassy for it. The Indonesian Embassy in Bern lists Switzerland and Liechtenstein among the countries eligible for the visa on arrival. Can I travel to Indonesia on a Swiss provisional passport?
Switzerland's FDFA advises against it. It says Swiss citizens have been refused entry several times because they had a provisional passport. It tells travelers to use only an ordinary Swiss passport for trips to Indonesia.
Can the Indonesian Embassy in Bern help with my eVOA application?

My child is Swiss and Indonesian. Does my child need a visa for Indonesia?
The Indonesian Embassy in Bern says a child born in Switzerland or Liechtenstein to an Indonesian parent holds dual nationality until 18. The child can get an affidavit, affixed to the Swiss passport. Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration says a child traveling only on the Swiss passport, with that affidavit, is exempt from a visa. At 18, or on marrying, the child must choose one nationality.
