Indonesia visa for German citizens
German citizens can get a visa on arrival or apply online for the eVOA. Travel on your Reisepass, since the Personalausweis is not accepted.

Indonesia visa requirements for German citizens
Germany's Federal Foreign Office says German citizens get a visa on arrival or apply for a visa at an Indonesian mission before entry, depending on purpose, route and length of stay. The visa on arrival is valid up to 30 days and can be extended once by 30 days. Your passport must be valid at least six months at both entry and exit, and the Personalausweis is not accepted. A passport that was ever reported lost or stolen cannot be used for entry. Since 1 October 2025, every traveler must also file the All Indonesia arrival card, in the 3 days before arrival.

Fairly easy to use. We struggle a bit with Technology so attaching the photo took awhile. We paid the tourist entry fee too but not sure what happens to this.

Do German citizens need a visa for Indonesia?
Yes. Germany's Federal Foreign Office says German citizens get a visa on arrival or apply for a visa at an Indonesian mission before entry, depending on purpose, route and length of stay. The visa on arrival is valid up to 30 days and can be extended once by 30 days. Volunteer work is not allowed on it.
Can I enter Indonesia with my German ID card (Personalausweis)?
No. Germany's Federal Foreign Office says neither the Personalausweis nor the provisional ID card is accepted for entry to Indonesia. Travel on a German Reisepass that is valid at least six months at both entry and exit.
My passport was reported lost or stolen and then found. Can I still use it for Indonesia?
No. Germany's Federal Foreign Office says a passport once reported lost or stolen cannot be used to enter Indonesia. German citizens have been refused entry over this. It adds that the German Embassy in Jakarta cannot persuade Indonesian authorities to admit someone after a refusal.
Which Indonesian mission in Germany issues visas before travel?
Any of them, says Germany's Federal Foreign Office, regardless of where you live. It says a visa issued before entry is required for longer stays, and for journalism, paid work, research or volunteer work. Indonesia has an embassy in Berlin and consulates general in Hamburg and Frankfurt.
