I initially tried to file for a Visa directly on the government Visa online application. It was not easy to use anad it required old Visa information from a previous trip to India, 15 years ago.
I had worked for more than 30 years for the Brazilian Corporation for Agricultural Research. I Did My Master Degree at Purdue Univerdity, USA and My Dr degree at Cambridge Ubiverdity , UK.
I've been going to Mumbai for 27 years, 3 times a year in the first few. I found it very difficult this time to obtain my visa with a particular site. Easy to use, except for rhe photo of my passport. The page with all the information has a plastic cover, of course there's going to be glare when I take a photo!

It´s easy to follow the steps. And it´s good that you can start with the application and complete all required information to a later stage without creation of a proper account. But still secured.
