Japanese visa policy for Pakistani citizens

Pakistani citizens need a visa to visit Japan. In some cases, Pakistani citizens who hold a valid residence permit in an eligible third country (such as the United Kingdom, the United States, or certain EU jurisdictions) may be able to apply for a Japan eVisa online for short-term tourism, provided they apply from their country of legal residence. Pakistani travelers who do not meet the eVisa eligibility requirements must apply through the Japanese Embassy or an authorized visa center in Pakistan.

iVisa offers one entry document for Pakistani travelers (when eligible):

  • Japan eVisa: an electronic visa available for Pakistani citizens who legally reside in eligible countries and are traveling to Japan for short-term tourism. The application is completed online and must be approved before travel.

General Japan visa requirements for Pakistani travelers are:

  • A Pakistani passport valid for the duration of stay
  • Approved document from another country for the Japan eVisa (if eligible)
  • Confirmed onward or return travel ticket
  • Proof of accommodation and travel itinerary
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
  • Additional supporting documents depending on visa type (residence permit, invitation letter)
