Yes. Children or minors must also get a Schengen Visa if they visit Finland and are from an eligible country.
Additional documents, such as a birth certificate and consent from both legal guardians, may be required.
How long is the Finland Schengen Visa valid for?
With this visa, travelers are allowed a maximum stay of 90 days within 180 days per entry.
The Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs determines the type of visa you receive, whether it is multiple-entry, double-entry, or single-entry. If granted a multiple-entry visa, its validity can range from 180 days to a maximum of 5 years.
Can I extend my Schengen Visa while traveling?
Typically, it is not possible to extend a Schengen Visa during your trip unless there are exceptional circumstances, such as a medical emergency.

Travel/medical insurance: It must cover expenses for medical treatment up to €30,000 in the Schengen Area and repatriation in case of an emergency

Visa fees and processing time of the Finland Schengen Visa application
The Finnish government aims to give a decision on your application within 45 days; however, this can be longer depending on your application and the embassy workload.
We recommend applying well in advance of your trip to account for delays. It’s possible to start your application six months before your departure date.
The government fee of approx. US$85 (differs per nationality) is paid during the visa appointment (half-price for children between the ages of 6 and 12 and free for kids under 6 years old).
Do I need a Finland Schengen Visa if I’m transiting through the country?
If you are from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraq, Iran, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, or Sri Lanka you will need an Airport Transit Visa.
We advise you to contact your local embassy to check if you need a Transit Visa because this type of information can change on short notice.
