What is the Indonesia Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVoa)?

The Indonesia eVoa (Electronic Visa on Arrival) is an online visa system that allows eligible travelers to get a visa before their arrival in Indonesia. It offers a convenient and time-saving option for those who want to skip the traditional Visa on Arrival process at the airport (goodbye queues!).

One of the many benefits of this visa is that it allows you to travel by air, sea, or land.

The Indonesia eVoa allows you to do many different activities:

  • Tourism.

  • Transit in Indonesia.

However, you are not allowed to work in Indonesia on this visa or attend events as a paid speaker.

To be eligible for the Indonesia eVoa, you must:

  • Stay in Indonesia for visit purposes only.

  • Have enough funds to cover your stay in Indonesia.

Who is visa-exempt for Indonesia?

Travelers from ASEAN member countries do not need a visa for Indonesia. These include Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Cambodia, Brunei, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam.

You need to only show your passport (which has to be valid for another six months) and a return or onward ticket. You can stay in Indonesia without a visa for up to 30 days.

Do children and minors need to apply for this Indonesian visa?

How long is the Indonesia Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVoa) valid?

This is a Single entry visa. That means that you can only enter Indonesia once with this travel document.

You must enter the country within 90 days after issuance and the permitted stay is 30 days per entry.

Can I extend the Indonesia eVoa?

Yes. The visa can be extended once in Indonesia for another 30 days at designated entry points by paying the visa fee again.

You only need the following documents for the online application of the Indonesia e-Voa:

  • A copy of your valid passport. Make sure it is valid for at least six months from your arrival date in Indonesia.

  • A passport-size photo.

There are currently no COVID-19 testing or vaccination requirements for travelers entering Indonesia.

  • Visa on Arrival (eVoa): The VoA can be obtained upon arrival at designated entry points in Indonesia, such as Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The VoA allows for a maximum stay of 30 days per entry in Indonesia. However, it can be extended for an additional 30 days at an immigration office or online.
