Indonesia Visa (eVOA)

Purpose: The Indonesia Visa on Arrival (eVOA) allows eligible travelers to enter Indonesia for tourism, government visits, business meetings, or short leisure stays.

When to apply: It must be obtained before travel if applying online. We recommend applying at least a few days before departure.

Processing time: Most eVOA applications are processed within a few business days.

Duration and extensions: The eVOA is valid for 30 days from the date of entry and can typically be extended once for an additional 30 days through Indonesian immigration authorities.

Entries: Single entry.

Delivery format: This is a digital visa issued online. Travelers must present the electronic approval upon arrival in Indonesia.

Indonesia Tourist Visit Visa (C1 or B211A Visa)

Purpose: The Indonesia C1 (B211A Visa) is a single-entry visit visa intended for tourism, social visits, or certain non-commercial activities that require a longer stay than the eVOA.

When to apply: It must be approved before travel. We recommend applying at least 7 to 10 days before your planned departure.

Processing time: Most applications are processed within several business days, depending on the selected processing speed.

Duration and extensions: The C1 (B211A) Visa is typically valid for 60 days from the date of entry and may be extended in stages through Indonesian immigration authorities, subject to approval.

Entries: Single entry.

Delivery format: This is a digital visa issued online. Travelers must present the electronic visa approval upon arrival in Indonesia.

Indonesia Tourist Visa

Purpose: The Indonesia Tourist Visa is issued to travelers who are not eligible for the eVOA and wish to visit Indonesia for tourism or family visits.

When to apply: It must be obtained before travel through an Indonesian embassy or consulate if required based on nationality.

Processing time: Processing times vary depending on the embassy or consulate handling the application.

Duration and extensions: The permitted length of stay depends on the visa issued. Extensions may be possible through Indonesian immigration authorities, subject to approval.

Entries: May be issued as single-entry or multiple-entry, depending on approval.

Delivery format: This is typically a visa issued by an Indonesian embassy or consulate and placed in your passport prior to travel.

Indonesia Business Visa*

The Indonesia Business Visa (Single-Entry) is issued to travelers visiting Indonesia for business-related activities such as meetings, conferences, negotiations, or professional engagements. It must be obtained in advance and does not permit employment or paid work in Indonesia.

Indonesia Arrival Card*

The Indonesia Arrival Card (currently officially known as the "All Indonesia" portal or SATUSEHAT Health Pass) is a mandatory digital declaration required for all international travelers entering Indonesia. It must be completed within 3 days (72 hours) before arrival.

Bali Tourist Levy*

Foreign tourists entering Bali must pay a mandatory tax of 150,000 IDR (approx. £8/USD 10) levy per person to support environmental conservation and cultural preservation. Payment is made via the Love Bali website or app, generating a QR code to be scanned upon arrival.

Indonesia visa policy

Most travelers must obtain a visa before traveling to Indonesia, unless they are from a visa-exempt country for short tourism stays. Eligible nationalities can apply online for an Indonesia eVOA before departure, while others must apply for the appropriate visa category in advance.

Short tourism visits are typically covered by the eVOA, while longer stays or specific activities may require a C1 (B211A) Visa or another consular visa category. All travelers must also complete a digital arrival card within 72 hours before arrival. Visitors to Bali must pay a tourism levy online through Love Bali.

What is the difference between the eVOA and the C1 (B211A) Visa?

The eVOA is designed for short stays of up to 30 days and is suitable for tourism, short business visits, or transit. The C1 (B211A) Visa is intended for travelers who need a longer initial stay, typically 60 days, and may allow multiple extensions. If you plan to remain in Indonesia beyond 30 days from the start, the C1 visa is generally the more appropriate option.

Can I switch from an eVOA to a C1 (B211A) Visa while in Indonesia?

No. Visa types cannot be converted from within Indonesia. If you enter with an eVOA and later decide you need a longer stay under a C1 visa, you must leave Indonesia and apply for the correct visa category before re-entering.

How many times can I extend my Indonesian visa?

The eVOA can typically be extended once for an additional 30 days. The C1 (B211A) Visa may allow multiple extensions, subject to immigration approval. All extension requests must be submitted before your current permitted stay expires.

What activities are not allowed on a tourist visa or eVOA?
