What is the Malaysia Customs Declaration Form?

The Malaysia Customs Declaration Form is not a visa but a document that travelers by air must fill out to declare goods and cash when arriving in the country. It's also known as Customs Form No. 7. It is part of the customs act under Malaysian law.

Find out if you need a separate tourist visa or digital nomad visa through our handy Visa Checker Tool at the top of this page. Contact your nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate for other work and study visas or residence permits.

Who must fill out the customs declaration to visit Malaysia?

Each person arriving by air who has the following to declare must fill out the form:

  • Cash, bearer negotiable instruments, or other monetary instruments (such as checks, bills, or money orders) exceeding USD 10,000 or equivalent.

Absolute prohibited goods will be seized and forfeited. False declarations can lead to fines or even convictions, so it's essential to fill out the form honestly.

  • Prepared food with a total value not exceeding RM150
