We provide a streamlined process to get your Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa. Let's dive into the process and requirements below.

What is the Saudi Arabia eVisa?

Saudi Arabia recently introduced an electronic visa system, also known as the Saudi e-Visa or Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa.

This means that you can apply 100% online without visiting a Saudi Embassy or Consulate, for your convenience.

What can you do with the Saudi Arabia eVisa?

With the Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa, you can:

  • Explore the country for tourism

  • Visit religious sites, such as the Holy City of Mecca (Muslim visa holders only) and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina

  • Perform Umrah (Muslim visa holders only - outside Hajj season)

What can you not do with the Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa?

With the Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa, there are certain activities that you are not allowed to engage in. These include:

  • Perform Hajj or Umrah during Hajj season

  • Undertake any form of work or employment

  • Study

  • Do business or establish a business

  • Participate in political rallies or demonstrations

  • Preach or promote any religion other than Islam

  • Undertake any form of journalism or media-related activities without proper authorization

Who is eligible for the Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa?

The Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa is available to citizens of more than 50 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Iceland, Ireland, and Turkey.

This is just a small selection of the many eligible countries. If you don’t see your country listed here, use our visa checker to check if you require this visa or another one.

Visa exempt: Who doesn't need a Saudi eVisa?

Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can travel to Saudi Arabia without a visa.

It is important to note that these exemptions are subject to change.

Nationals from other countries may require another type of visa or ETA for Saudi Arabia.

Do minors require a Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa?

Minors require their own Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa if they're from an eligible country.

When applying for a visa for a minor, legal guardians or parents must provide additional documents such as a copy of the minor's birth certificate, consent letter from both parents or legal guardians, and proof of the minor's relationship to the accompanying adult.

How long is the Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa valid?

There are two types of eVisas with different durations:

  • Single-entry: Valid for three months from the date of issuance and allows you to stay in the country for up to 90 days.

  • Multiple-entry: Valid for one year from the date of issuance and allows you to stay in the country for up to 90 days in total.

Currently, we only offer the multiple-entry visa.

Can I extend my Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa?

No, as Saudi Arabia does not offer tourist eVisa extensions. You must leave Saudi Arabia before your visa expires to avoid fines and issues with traveling to the country in the future.

Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa: Required documents

Before applying for a Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa, make sure to gather the following documents:

  • Valid passport: Your passport must have a minimum validity of six months beyond your planned arrival date and at least two blank pages for visa stamping

  • Passport-size photo: Recently taken

  • For minors and children: Additional documents may be required, such as a birth certificate

Please note that the Saudi Arabian authorities may request additional documents or information during the visa application process if necessary. We’ll contact you by email if this is the case.

I’ll be in and out of Saudi Arabia over the next year, with some side trips to places like Dubai in between. I’m a bit confused about the Saudi tourist visa though. Is it a total of 90 days in a year, or does it reset every time I re-enter Saudi? Like, could I spend 90 days there, travel to Dubai for a week, and then get another 90 days when I come back to Saudi?

Since the East African Tourist Visa, which covers Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, is currently not available through the Kenyan government website, you can apply for the Uganda East Africa Visa if that’s the first country you'll go to after Kenya. This visa will cover your entries into Uganda and Rwanda. If you plan to head to Rwanda first after visiting Kenya, you can apply for the Rwanda East Africa Visa instead.

Laura A, UK | July 16, 2024

I'm planning my pilgrimage from London to Saudi Arabia for Umrah but I don’t have much time. I'm trying to figure out the best visa for me. Can I use the tourist eVisa for this purpose? Or is there a better option? I have a British passport.

Martin, iVisa | July 19, 2024

You can use the Saudi tourist eVisa for Umrah, except during the peak Hajj season. As a UK citizen, you’re eligible for a Saudi Umrah Visa. This might be the better option for you as the visa is typically provided as part of a travel package, which includes the visa, transportation from and to the airport, accommodation, and medical insurance. All you have to book directly are your flights.

Jeff B, Canada | July 28, 2024

I'm from Toronto and looking to head back to Saudi Arabia for a second trip. My current tourist eVisa is still valid, but I want to get a new one with a new validity date. Can I apply for a new visa while the first one is still active, or do I need to wait until it expires?

Martin, iVisa | July 30, 2024

Unfortunately, you can't apply for a new Saudi Tourist eVisa if your current one is still valid. You’d have to first cancel your current visa at the nearest Saudi embassy or consulate. Once this is done, you can then apply for a new eVisa.

You should contact our customer support team as soon as possible to help you to solve the problem. Remember, your application will always be reviewed by our experts, so you can count on our team to notify you if something is missing before the submission.
It takes from five days to 24 hours to process a Saudi eVisa, depending on the processing time chosen during the application. So you should apply at least 24 hours before the trip to Saudi Arabia to guarantee you will have the document in time.
You need to give some information about your planned trip to apply for the Saudi Arabia eVisa. So you can’t fill in the application without proof of a travel itinerary, for example.
No, you can apply again for a Saudi Arabia eVisa. However, ensure you fill out the online form with accurate personal data and travel details, as mistakes or incorrect information may result in another rejected application.
At iVisa, we understand that your time is valuable, and we strive to provide you with the fastest service possible. Our processing times are estimated based on the average duration it takes governments to process visa applications. These estimated times begin from the moment we receive all the correct information for your application until you receive your visa. While we work diligently to expedite the process, it’s important to note that we are reliant on the processing times set by the government authorities.
