- What it is
- The Jordan Pass is not a visa. It is a prepaid tourism bundle sold by Jordan's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities that covers admission to more than 40 heritage and tourist sites, including Petra, and waives the tourist entry visa fee for eligible travelers who buy it before they arrive.
- Who it's for
- Travelers visiting Jordan for tourism whose nationality qualifies for a visa on arrival. Nationalities that need prior security clearance or an embassy visa can still buy the Pass, but for them it is only a sightseeing bundle and waives nothing. It is not available to Arab nationality holders.
- Entry points
- The fee waiver works where a visa on arrival is granted, including Queen Alia International Airport in Amman and the Sheikh Hussein / Jordan River crossing. The King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge grants no visa on arrival to anyone, so an eVisa or embassy visa must already be in hand there.
- Delivery format
- After purchase you receive a PDF and an image by email. Print it. Jordan's own guidance is that a QR code may not scan reliably from a phone screen, and you will be asked for it at the visa counter and at the entrance to every attraction, along with your passport or ID.
- Good to know
- The waiver depends on a minimum stay, and Jordan's immigration system checks it when you leave rather than when you arrive. The tier you pick is locked in at purchase, with no upgrade or downgrade afterward. Ground transport, Petra by Night and the Baptism Site are not included by default, and nothing is refundable or transferable.

Is the Jordan Pass a visa?
No. The Jordan Pass is not a visa; it's a pre-paid sightseeing package. However, it waives the tourist visa fee for eligible nationalities, provided you purchase it before entering the country and stay for at least 2 consecutive nights (3 days).
Which land borders accept the Jordan Pass for the visa waiver?
You can use the Jordan Pass to waive your visa fee at most entry points, including Queen Alia International Airport and the Wadi Araba (Eilat/Aqaba) border. However, you cannot obtain a visa on arrival or use the Jordan Pass waiver at the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge crossing; you must have a pre-issued eVisa or physical visa to enter there.
Can restricted nationalities use the Jordan Pass?
No. The Jordan Pass visa waiver is only available to nationalities eligible for Visa on Arrival (e.g., USA, UK, EU, Canada). If your nationality requires prior security clearance or a pre-approved embassy visa (such as India, Pakistan, or Nigeria), you cannot use the Jordan Pass to waive your visa fee and must apply for a Jordan eVisa instead.
Do children/minors need their own Jordan Pass?
Generally, no. Children under 12 years old enter most tourist sites in Jordan for free when accompanied by an adult. Since a standard visa fee is 40 JOD and the cheapest Jordan Pass is 70 JOD, it’s more cost-effective to simply pay the child’s visa fee at the border (if their nationality requires it) rather than purchasing a Pass for them.
What happens if I stay less than 2 nights?
If you leave Jordan before completing the minimum 2-night stay, the visa fee waiver becomes void. You'll be required to pay the visa fee at the border or airport upon your departure from the country.
Can I buy the Jordan Pass after I arrive?
No. To benefit from the visa fee waiver, you must purchase the Jordan Pass online before you enter the Hashemite Kingdom. If you buy it after passing through immigration, you'll have already paid the visa fee, and it won't be refunded.
How long is the Jordan Pass valid?
The Jordan Pass is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. However, once it's scanned for the first time at any attraction, it remains active for only 30 days. Ensure your trip falls within this 30-day window once you start sightseeing.
How will I receive the Jordan Pass?
Once your Jordan Pass application is approved, you’ll receive an email with a PDF. We recommend printing a physical copy to be scanned at the border for your visa waiver and at the entrance of every tourist site.
How long can I stay in Jordan with the Jordan Pass?
As of January 2026, Jordan has extended the automatic stay permit for all tourists (excluding work visas) to 90 days, up from the previous 30-day limit. This applies whether you use a Jordan Pass for a visa-on-arrival fee waiver or enter with a pre-approved eVisa. To keep the fee waiver, you must stay for at least 3 nights.
