Egypt Declaration Form: Learn more about Egypt Tourism

Egypt is in the top 30 largest countries in the world due to its 1 million square kilometers of land, which can be fascinating when planning a trip, as you might think that there are many things to explore then. The thing is that not many people know how to arrange an Egyptian trip, therefore, it’s possible to end up losing some hidden beauties. Besides, 99% of Egypt’s population uses only 5% of the total land area, making it a bit difficult to know a big part of the country, but not impossible.

The first thing that might cross your mind when thinking about Egypt is the pyramids and the Nile, but keep in mind that this country is more than that. You can explore other amazing places like its capital, Cairo, and the Red Sea, to name a few. Also, remember that Egyptian culture dates back thousands of years, so it has a lot of interesting spots to learn more about this topic. We can help you with that by mentioning some of the most important places to visit.

You should explore The Nile Valley. This is the place where you can find the Valley of the Kings, the Pyramids, the incredible Sphinx, and also the temples of Luxor and Karnak. All of them are close to important cities and towns like Cairo, El Menya, and Aswan. Besides, in this place, you can sail the world’s longest river, the Nile, which is why the entire area is known as the Nile Valley. The Nile river enters Egypt a few kilometers north of a Sudanese town. The north-flowing direction of this river is part of the “Upper Egypt.” Through the stretch of the Nile is the world’s most intense concentration of temples, palaces, and tombs. All of them were built within 4,000 years. Some of the most popular temples are Dendara, Karnak, Abydos, Edfu, Philae, and Abu Simble. Each of them is conceived for their particular deities, so you can learn a lot about the Egyptian culture by exploring them. Remember that all of these temples are important, so you shouldn’t overlook them. Plus, they’re not that far from the Theban Necropolis within the Valley of the Kings, which tends to be the most visited place.

Following the route of the River Nile, remember that other must-see historical places include the Temple of Ramses II and the temples of File. All these places are important and can teach you many interesting facts about Egyptian mythology and its strong influence on today's lifestyle. Near Cairo, you can easily explore probably the most iconic places in Egypt: The Pyramids of Giza and The Sphinx, monumental sculptures found on the west bank of the Nile River. Interestingly, the locals called the Sphinx "Abu el-Hol" or 'Father of Terror', which is considered a corrupt expression of Coptic bel-hit, and it was used in those who manifest their intelligence in their eyes. This would translate into the Egyptian name hu or ju, which means 'the guardian'.

Aside from the incredible temples in the Nile, you can also enjoy the river-scape from a felucca, the name for the small sailboats. You can arrange a tour with these boats in Aswan, located about 899 km south of Cairo. Aswan is a peaceful Nile Valley spot where the Nile is more majestic than anywhere else, passing through granite rocks, and round emerald islands with palm groves and tropical plants.

Another Egyptian region that you should take into account is the Red Sea, where you can enjoy some of the best seaside and family activities in eastern Egypt. In the Red Sea Riviera, you can find many beautiful beaches able to swim among dolphins, dugongs, and other exotic flora and fauna. Plus, the Egyptian Red Sea is a perfect diving destination at any time of the year. You can still swim, dive or snorkel in this place even when water temperatures lower down to 21 degrees. Some of the beautiful beaches that you can visit here are Qulan القلعان, Sharm El Luli, Ras Hankorab and the beautiful Mukawwa Island that is usually very visited for diving.

We have mentioned only some of the points you can visit in Egypt since you can also explore the pristine coastline of the White Med. The White Med starts from El Alamein to the small harbor town of Masra Matruh. In this place, you can also visit Alexandria to see Pompey’s Pillar, El Alamein to see the site of a major World War II battle, and many places more. The list is long with Egypt, so as you can see, not everything is a tour to the Pyramids.

Something that you cannot forget when traveling to Egypt is the Egypt Declaration Form. The Egypt Declaration Form is a travel document that you’ll need upon arrival, as the official authorities are asking for it to control the best way possible foreign entry, especially if there’s any health emergency (for example, the coronavirus outbreak).
