Indonesia visa requirements
Most travelers need an Indonesia visa before they can enter the country for tourism or business, unless their nationality is visa-exempt or covered by the ASEAN visa-free arrangement.
Short stays are usually covered by the Indonesia eVOA, an online visa on arrival you can secure before you fly to skip the airport queue. Longer stays, or nationalities not eligible for the eVOA, need the Indonesia Tourist Visa (C1 (B211A) eVisa) instead, which you can also apply for entirely online.
All travelers, whichever visa they hold, must also complete the digital Indonesia Arrival Card in the 72 hours before arrival. If you're heading to Bali, you'll also need to pay the Bali tourism levy through the official Love Bali site, either online in advance or at the airport when you land.

It‘ very easy to apply for the Visa, but in advance it’s good to know that you have to upload a passport photo and your passport from the files

What is the difference between the eVOA and the Tourist Visa C1 (B211A) Visa?
The eVOA is designed for short stays of up to 30 days and is suitable for tourism, short business visits, or transit. It's a simple online application for eligible travelers, and helps avoid long visa queues upon arrival. The eVOA is extendable for another 30 days. The C1 Tourist Visa can be extended twice, with each extension granting an additional 60 days, allowing a total stay of up to 180 days in the country before you must exit. If you plan to remain in Indonesia beyond 30 days from the start, the C1 visa is generally the more appropriate option.
How long can I stay in Indonesia?
It depends on the visa you're issued. The eVOA generally allows a stay of up to 30 days (extendable once for another 30 days), and the Tourist C1 Visa allows a stay of up to 60 days (extendable twice for 60 days per extension, up to 180 days total).
Can I switch from an eVOA to a C1 (B211A) Visa while in Indonesia?
No. Visa types cannot be converted from within Indonesia. If you enter with an eVOA and later decide you need a longer stay, you can extend it with another 30 days, but you'll need to visit a local immigration office in person to do so.
How many times can I extend my Indonesian visa?
The eVOA can typically be extended once for an additional 30 days. The C1 (B211A) Visa may allow multiple extensions, subject to immigration approval. All extension requests must be submitted well before your current permitted stay expires.
What activities are not allowed on a tourist visa or eVOA?
Tourist visas and eVOAs do not permit employment, earning income from Indonesian sources, or long-term residence. Engaging in unauthorized work or commercial activity can result in fines, deportation, or entry bans. Online creators and digital nomads/remote workers are generally not allowed to work in Indonesia on a tourist visa either, and may have to show proof that they won't. If you are a remote worker earning an income from clients or employers exclusively outside of Indonesia it's recommended you apply for a E33G visa.
What happens if I overstay my visa in Indonesia?
